We are friends from Seattle, all equally moved by a love of late 70's British punk/art rock and wave. We believe that music is a form of communication that can transcend politcal/social boundaries. The all ages music community is something we are very supportive of, trying to help young people have a sense of belonging and a healthy place to hang out.

we lovE:

science fiction

surrealist writers

people who stand up for what they believe in

people who don't sell out

people who wear their hearts on their sleeves

people who exhibit forethought

people who are concerned about others and live in such a way

Our bio: With recording guidance from renowned producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Hot Hot Heat), Seattle based Biography of Ferns skillfully alternates between upbeat, jangly indie pop, outright art-punk/wave attack and narrative psychedelic and sci-fi meanderings.

We have received a couple of cool awards/nominations in the past 2 years which are worthy of note considering the highly competitive Seattle music scene:

·Nominated as 2005 Seattle Weekly Music Awards Best Indie Band. Largest free newspaper in Seattle with circulation of 120,000!

· Winner of 2004 Redhook Brewery Emerging Music Awards

· Featured on 2004 Kill Rock Stars compilation 'Tracks and Fields'

*song 'John the Barber" is the all time #2 best indie melody on www.garageband.com*

**Stay tuned for 2006 Jack Endino produced album!**

Have an established independent label and arent jerks looking to milk us dry? Contact us. We are looking for support of our forthcoming release and will be touring US and Europe extensively. If you are from a major label, or a pseudo indie (backed by major label money) to be honest, we have very little interest in talking to you, given your history of treating musicians very poorly and being overly focused on profits rather than art or humanity.

blah blah blah.

music can change lives.

art can save lives.

it is a code to live by.

(the french surrealists were good writers. in particular robert desnos and paul eluard.)

our website has two albums for sale, t-shirts, a book of poems written by our singer justin and other neat stuff. www.biographyofferns.com

today i entered into the shoe pavillion. i met with good kind logarth while i was there. he told me of the great evil that plagues our land and provided me with a magic wand, a potion and a gigantic horse and requested that i leave in search of truth and the begining of time. he offered me his daughters hand in marriage if i were to succeed.

i was too busy planning on polishing my humvee and told him itd have to wait.
