I wrote this song on 07/04/2016. It was cloudy, it was cold and I had been walking around Seattle by myself trying to feel connected. Wasn't happening. So I returned home to my guitars and note pad and found the connection I'd been searching for.

Evan Gackstatter- vocals, guitar, bass
Mack Grout- keys
Josh Jones- drums
Adam Harris- flute

Imagine, you're feeling a little beat from the relentlessness of city life. Your body is aching and toxic, your mind is cloudy and can't seem to grasp onto a single thought, everything seems too far away until it hits you in the face and your ears are ringing perpetually from the night before. So you decide to climb a mountain and leave the chaos behind for at least an afternoon. As you walk the path and elevation increases, your blood is pumping and your breath is steady, the outdoor air seems to cleanse you entire body and your mind begins to sharpen. You arrive either at a summit or maybe just a good place to sit and contemplate. You look out across the neon smog ant den from where you came and it is clear to you what a mess it is down there. But you are not threatened and you are not depressed. You see it as this flailing child who needs to be calmed and comforted. So you cradle this madness and head back down.
domestic grove you are a sin like me
you never share, you earn your keep
go on and ruin, the walls are down
you’re a drip, drip waste of water
while you’re world is a drought
once I rose, once I was proud to be
alone and cold, the young of old
looking down on everything
lalala

domestic grove you are allowed and free
the danger’s down, the consequences far beneath your feet
so how you doin up in the clouds
you descend on our disorder
perspiration from the clouds
once I rose, once I was proud ot be
alone and cold, the young of old
looking down on everything x
