Meeting of Minds
Azwel is captivating. I appreciated the soft ambiance of this song and the persistent riff "Meeting of minds" Not sure what mood it puts out to listeners generally, but to me it's a kind of gentle resignation that life goes on relentlessly but it sometimes throws up wonderful unspoken moments.

Every part of this song/production is perfect. Listening to it gives me confidence that true talent still exists, you just have to take the trouble to seek it out. Most invigorating listen to quicken the heart and waken the senses in a good way.

Getting old
Some days all I feel is OLD! There's a few different tempos and rhythms in this unusual song. Words are good - chorus is Funky. I found this a very satisfying listen right down to the melodic whistling. Haven't heard anything like this in a while. The singer has an appealing accent too. I don't feel quite as old now :) Thank you Whitehouse

I heard this on another Station today (Diamonds) and it had such a lovely feel to it I wanted it on my Station too. I love everything about it, song writing at its very best and a soothing, expressive vocal, some great shifts and some emotional highs. It has elements of a range of classic bands but it's still completely original. I wish I could write something this good.

Every Now And Then (cover)
Steve, it is such a weird thing that someone would cover your song anonymously and put such love and tenderness into it. It touched me as I heard of a bereavement this week that made me cry and this song hit the same nerve and I cried again. I hope you solve the mystery because you have many good songs that this person might like to take on.

El Parisa
It's oh so quiet (cover)
What a great cover of this classic song. A big cover hit for Bjork but also a B-side for Betty Hutton in 1951 and even then it was a cover of a German song "Und jetzt ist es still" It was given French lyrics "Tout est tranquille" and English words in '49 El Parisa have made an amazing job of this, I wish it were much longer. I put it on my 'Feelings' Station today because IMP feels "Oh so quiet" at the moment. Verity

What's Your Problem
Some folks just look for problems, they seek out enemies and people to bully. If everyone would just stop making a big deal about every little thing that bothers them, if people would accept that the World is diverse with different values and priorities living in close proximity... then it might be a more relaxing place. People, just mind your own business, get on with your own lives and be as good as you can. Don't make a drama and a crisis about every damn irritation. Know the difference between having a social awareness or conscience and being a stirrer, a war monger, a judge or a busybody. Nice song by the way :)

The Long and Short of It (Ice Figure Skater Blues)
J Patrick Sharpe's specialty is amusing anecdotes and sometimes you really need a little escapism. I picked this song because I've been watching the Winter Olympics in South Korea and I particularly like the ice dance and pairs.... but I have noticed that it's getting a bit freaky lately with the men getting bigger and the girls getting smaller so they can get thrown about easier I guess. I like the lyric here that girls don't go for big men in tights. I'm smiling now.

Although I don't understand a word of the lyrics, this song speaks to me emotionally. The music and the vocal sound is enough. I go to the park when I'm sad OR happy, the greenness, the fresh air, the peace and escape of just walking, the playing children and happy dogs, ducks on the pond, beautiful trees and flowers.... I just hope that this is what is being sung about here :)

Life On Fire
Radio Hell
I was determined to add a Life On Fire track to my station as they're obviously a very talented band. Their songs are interesting and multi-layered with some powerful lyrics. The 'radio' reference is apt for me as last night I was turning the dial furiously searching for music to drown out the unwanted sounds that keep waking me far too early - clanking plumbing pipes, intermittent smoke alarm beeps, heavy gales, trees tapping on the window, aircraft and car doors banging. Now all this is very disturbing but if it can be musically interpreted then it puts a great positive spin on the effects of noise and the way you digest it. A tenuous link but a good excuse to hear a good composition - V

Fall
This song goes to somewhere new in music, almost beyond our paradigm of what music should be. It does its own thing in a way that at first makes you feel you're intruding just by listening. Last night I had a bad dream about seeing someone fall to their death and the image woke me and stayed with me today - I may have managed to erase that image through the ethereal nature of this light, floating, drifting song and I now see and feel a soft beautiful landing. If you need to rise above earthly problems and harsh reality then filling your head with this melodic ambiance will do the trick.

Just what I needed to hear this morning. It's so easy to moan and feel sorry for ourselves but this sweet, jazzy song reminds us to count our blessings, get out of our funk, accept our situation and see the bright side of life. Aw, I just spotted the face of my Son, Gavin on the front page with his very popular (in 2007) song I had so forgotten how good this was. 2008 was a great year for good music at IAC/IMP and this reggae/rock/alternative song is no exception - but the sentiments suit my mood today. There's so much talking going on and not enough walking and doing. Everyone seems to have so much to say but they don't make time for listening. Mindless Hope
No Pressure
I just love the thought of all the nice IMP listeners being bombarded with this thrashing production. I've always had a penchant for the kind of song that lets you go totally berserk and blow it all out of the top of your head. Be patient lovely listeners because there are some really sweet, melodic moments to come. I started off laughing and ended up crying for all the indies who put so much into their musical aspirations - maybe it's all a 'mindless hope' but take away the pressure and it just becomes self expression which is worth something to the unexpressed.
