There is a lot I could say about “I Won't Cry”. I will focus on a fun bit of irony. This song, though happy in tone, was conceived under extremely stressful circumstances.
It's a bitter tell, wrapped in a pop-candy shell. It's interesting to me how uplifting the melodic qualities turned out.
