Cragmatic Pope was a band of high school aged teenagers from Kirkland Lake, a small northern Ontario mining town that is mostly known for gold mining and being home to an oddly large number of eventual NHL hockey players. (The town has a museum dedicated its contributions to hockey, I shit you not) They were part of a mid-90s DIY alternative/punk scene in northern Ontario Canada.

CRAgmatic Pope, sometimes abbreviated as CRAP, was started in 1994 with a mostly different line-up. The original line-up contained 3 former members of Sister Sticky one of the founding bands of the Imperial Order of Low Budget. The IOLB was a high school club created at the now demolished KLCVI that allowed the local teens, who were students there, to use the school's resources to advance the cause of the town’s independent band scene.

The line-up of Cragmatic Pope represented here, which would be the third and final iteration of the band, recorded and independently released two full length albums only on cassette tape.

"Disappear Today" was recorded in a small 8-track basement studio in New Liskeard in 1995 for about $600.

"Get Away From That Fish" was recorded on a 4-track in Jasmine's basement in 1996.

The mps3s on this site were ripped from an old cassette tape.

CRAgmatic Pope:

Charlotte Louttit-Kijekijik: Vocals, guitar
Shane Willard: Vocals, guitar
Jasmine Barrette: bass,vocals
Amanda Mongeon: drums, vocals
Ryan Blake: cornet, tacet
Beck Pascoe: original bassist, lyrics

Shane would go on to form the Deefons. Charlotte, Jasmine, and Ryan would form a band called Groundstate which released and EP called Amphetamine which also featured bonus tracks by Steel Rider.
