Singer, songwriter, international recording artist, vocal coach...Ray Lyell is a veteran of the music industry for over twenty seven years. In 1996, after thousands of concerts and three CDs on Spy & A&M Records, he left the road to get back to his roots and pursue a career in vocal coaching; helping young talent develop their skills. During that time he has worked with hundreds of students and has trained extensively himself, throughout the United States and Canada with very prominent vocal instructors such as Melissa Cross, Renee Grant Williams, Liz Lewis, Roger Beal and Ed Johnson who have coached some of the top recording artists and vocalists in the world. After a ten year hiatus, Ray released his fourth CD, entitled "Running On Faith" on his own label Rayne Records Distributed across Canada by CMC (Christian Marketing Canada), “Running On Faith” was supported by a Canadian tour during the summer months of 2005. Backed by a strong line-up of well-known rock musicians including Helix members: guitarist Gary Borden and drummer, Brian Doerner, as well as Paula Tessaro, Lyell’s co-vocalist during the Ray Lyell and The Storm fame of the late ‘80’s and ‘90s, the album delivers the same roots-rock feel with direct messages of hope and inspiration.

3/20/2008 6:44:18 PM Congratulations Ray on being nominated for a Golden Kayak award for "Crown Of Thorns". It is a great song and I was proud to add it to my Legendary Music station this past December. I am truly privileged, honoured and blessed to share a place with you on the list of 2008 IAIA Golden Kayak award nominees. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think such a day would come to pass in my life. This is another amazing chapter in my dream come true and is more than I could ever have imagined possible. I owe so much to you and to your awesome contribution to "The Cowboy Song". You and Gary and Ken and Steve all share in the success of what has become my "signature" song, and in the success of my debut album. My sincere thanks to each of you from the bottom of my heart. As for the Golden Kayaks, I am so thrilled to see you on the list of nominees Ray, and no matter the outcome of the voting, just being nominated for Best Song in a category is one of the highest honours that we could possibly receive from our peers. I was so happy to see this happen to you here at IAC. God bless, Neil
7/29/2007 12:47:09 AM It is really great to see you here Ray. I wish you mountains of new success, not only here on IAC Music but in all of your endeavours, to add to your many years of achievements and accomplishments. In my mind, and I'm sure in the mind of countless others, and for all the reasons that you have given of yourself to so many through your love of music over the years, no one can be more deserving than you of nothing but the very best that life and this world of music has to offer. Best wishes, Neil
