Main Squeeze
Wonderful short pop piece that sounds like a cool TV show theme from `68.

Love this one too. New wave lead vocal meets The Byrds harmonies in the chorus.

The Rubrics
Random Acts of Plumbing
Very psychedelic/trance piece with what sounds like guitar played with a violin bow. Hypnotic, reminds me of some early surf/psychedelic instrumentals & maybe a little bit Raybeats too.

What I Wouldn't Do
This sounds like a jazz/pop standard for the ages. Very nice structure. `Would like to hear this with a finished production.

What a killer song this is!! Like Whiter Shade of Pale meets the Small Faces meets Bowie meets Blur. Alot of movement & changes, a very majestic song in it's own right. It's refreshing to know there's still music like this!

Love the fuzz & big reverb. Trippy, droning mixolydian acid rock.

COMPLICATED MESS
Nice implied change in the verse when the bass goes to a minor 3 & back to the 1 under the same piano voicing..cool. Alot of retro jazz/pop elements under her fine R&B vocal style, notably the maj7 ending chord. Nice feeling song that sounds modern & traditional at the same time. Great recording too.

Cool new one from Steve. Lots of different changes & dynamics going on in this one. Some elements of 60's Neil Diamond. Great job as usual!

NEO MEGA QUASI ULTRA SUPER GROOVY
These guys must have been frozen in late `67 in a tragic liquid nitrogen spill & just recently thawed out like Dr. Evil !! EXTREMELY authentic psychedelic pop a'la The Association, The Left Banke & the Cowsills. Very tight, well crafted musical piece. Excuse me while I go get my lollipop that's been soaking in LSD!

Sun Today
Nice retro electric guitar pop. The first part of the verse is reminiscent of The Beatles' Only A Northern Song but it's a much more straightforward guitar/vocal driven tune of pre-psychedelic influence. Catchy, well structured & feel good. Roll the windows down & let the air blow through!

Jennifer Gentle
Universal Daughter
Jennifer Gentle is a band from Italy that is obviously and admittedly obsessed with Syd Barret. Except for the voice I could almost swear this was a lost track from Piper At The gates Of Dawn. Being a huge Syd fan I just had to put this on here. Trappings of that first Floyd album can be found right here. Fabulously far out!

Bye! Bye! Bye!
Blue Cheer meets Crabby Appleton. Classic 1969-70 styled fuzzed-out, post psychedelic rock. Actually, sounds a bit like Monster Magnet too.

Missis Marshall
Cool!! This Russian band sounds like all the great mid 60's British Mod rock that I LOVED when I was a kid. Sounds kind of like The Pretty Things meets The Yardbirds... & on top of that, it was recorded the same way too..live with minimal miking & room ambience that I loved in those old recordings. Great energy & vibe that sounds like real 1966 mod rock.

What can I say about The Living Dolls that hasn't been said! Great new song that showcases thier mastery of cool chord changes, melody, arrangement & vibe along with a whimsically ironic subject matter. Ray Davies would be proud!
