As much as I don't like playing by the rules, here's the obligatory bio...I started my musical career at age six by studying classical piano with a teacher from Juilliard...until I realized that pianists could rock out too. That was the end of my classical studies, and I branched out by teaching myself guitar, bass, and drums too. Since then, I've had my own bands which have run the gamut from alternative to metal to electronic, and as a session musician have worked with a variety of people including Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Chuck Berry, latin artist Sa-Fire, comedian Chris Rock, ex-Plasmatics Jean Beauvoir, and more. For a while, I even did sessions re-recording songs for a Japanese karaoke company (yes, if you're up on a stage somewhere making a drunk ass of yourself with a mic in your hand, the chances are good I'm accompanying you on keyboards).
Throughout, I've had the privilege of working with some amazing and talented musicians (and some untalented assholes as well, but hey, that's life), but perhaps the highlight was being in the first American rock band (No Heroes) to play at Red Square in Moscow...talk about an unforgettable experience. But after doing the ""band thing"" for a while, I've decided to take it all upon myself and become a solo artist...writing, producing, and playing all the instruments. Sure, it can be lonely in the studio, but at least I don't have to wonder why my drummer is late for the sessions yet again. The outcome? It's Power Pop music, with lots of harmonies, but with a decidely hard edge.
My first solo CD - Pop Motel - was released a couple of years ago, and we just recently released the follow-up...Sidesshow Freak...which can you find at all the usual suspects iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, etc.. Check it out!
Hope you enjoy the results...swm
