A blend of jazz, funky orchestration and a razzlin’ dazzlin’ performance, that’s the definition of Eleonora’s Holiday, with vocalist Eleonora. Spiced up swing time classics as well as newly arranged tunes prove that jazz is very much alive and kicking.

WHO'S ELEONORA?
From early childhood on vocalists like Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson and Diana Ross have had a major impact on Eleonora. Not just for their amazing vocal skills, but furthermore because of their exciting and inspiring lives. This combination of vocal technique, drama and wit is what Eleonora calls 'Method Singing' (as in method acting). Eleonora has won several awards, amongst them the People’s Choice Award of the prestigious Dutch Jazz Vocalist Competition in 2003. She is known for several Dutch radio and television commercials. She teaches singing technique, acts in theatre plays, does workshops and writes books based on her own vocal technique ‘Method Singing’. Last but not least she is busy as a songwriter and lyricist, inspired by her lifetime icons David Sylvian and Pete Townshend.

Eleonora uses Neumann and Shoeps microphones, on stage as well as in the studio. "The KMS 104 is the best mic ever; it produces a very natural sound and makes my voice sound like Me".

Marcellino plays Yamaha P-140 stage piano, Roland XP-30 synthesizer and Alesis Quadrasynth Plus synthesizer/piano. The guitars he uses are Ibanez FA-100 jazz guitar, Seagull Maritime Mini Jumbo acoustic guitar and Motion TC 907 CE Spanish guitar.

Han plays a Bohemian double-bass (120 years old ). "What hits me is the Emotion that is combined in Sound & Groove".

Arie plays Selmer Reference altosaxophone and Aurora Classic sopranosaxophone.

Alphonso plays a so called Claude Gordon custom built by E. Benge Bb trumpet. "I fell almost straight in love with the Benge after hearing the clear sound and projection". The flügelhorn is a resno tempered bell no# 5, custom built by E-Benge Los Angeles Calif.
