Scatterdome was formed in July 1998 in a geodesic dome in the foothills area of Tucson, Arizona. The original lineup (featured on the Grummet album) consisted of Jim Prange (guitar, vocals), Jesse Buffington (guitar, vocals), Ryan Janac (drums) and Jon Maner (bass).

D. Adam Estner joined Scatterdome in August 2000, filling the lead guitar spot vacated by Jesse Buffington. J. D. Jones began playing drums with the band in June 2002. Jon Chuchvara joined the band in the fall of 2004 as the bass player.

Look for a new album from Scatterdome sometime around the end of 2006.
