The 35-year marriage of Johnny Cash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) and June Carter Cash (June 23, 1929 - May 15, 2003) is considered to be one of the great love stories of the entertainment industry.
June and Johnny met backstage at the Grand Ole Opry in the late 1950's. She was already a veteran in Country Music, having performed with her family since was six years old. Johnny who had been honing his craft since age 12, was fast becoming what everyone couldn't stop talking about on the radio.
Over the course of five decades, Johnny and June Carter Cash's music and lyrics touched the hearts and minds of millions, from prison inmates to presidents.
