What's your favorite chord? Do you have one?
G Maj. 13th, no 3
Essentially, it's (low to high, starting with the A string):
D, F#, G, D, E
(An open-position "C" chord, slid up a full step.)
I love it.
Used in "I'm Pathetic"
During the part in the verse where I sing "ooohhhh".
Used in "Whiskey"
As the second of the two chords used in the verses.
And I've used it in a few other songs that I have yet to record. Just a pretty-sounding chord.

Prolly I like dissonance,
A C# D# G
I cant think of a fav melodic one right now, but 5ths and 6ths are very "comfortable"

No chord exists in a vacuum. It's impact depends upon the chords preceding it and the chords following it. I can't say there are any chords that I can just strum and understand its emotional significance. That being said, I tend to love the unsettled nature of diminished and augmented chords. But it all depends on how you resolve them (or not).

I dig that chord too...
here a pair of six string chords I like a lot
starting in the 7th postition (so the B is in the 7th fret)
E(open) B G# D# G# E(open)
then slide it down a whole step and still play the 2 open E strings
E(open) A F# C# F# E(open)

I agree with culeoka! But if I was forced to pick one I'd say "G" in open tuning.
I also love suspended and diminished chords.

ah ok being the keys guy i guess mine are going to lean off to voicings of various many chords. hard to compare guitar chords/voicings to keys. but I really like the guitar sounds sometimes more then piano, i guess it is how you shape them
Let me change that first one to this
A G in the LH
C # F# A# in the RH
so I guess you could name it magic chords with the 5 notes, that is what we call it in our keyboard world
there are tons of others I like but if we only get one this will be it
