Brand New FULL-BAND recording
Let's see if this works. I tried posting before, but it didn't seem to take.
A new song, with a FULL BAND sound!
The Key
I played all guitars, bass, and sand all vocal parts.
Drums and percussion were done by my friend Stephan.
Hope you all can see this now.
It's a simple little ditty, but it's fun and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.
Also the recorded debut of my new Telecaster, "George"!

Nice job. Reminds me of Nick Lowe. Travelling Wilburys. And I love the guitar solo. Very twangy.

Thanks so much, guys!
And yeah, that twang:
I just got my first Telecaster and I knew that it would be perfect for this song. I love the sound of that thing!

Very cool, brotha. Pair it with "You Wrote the Song" on a 45, and put 'em in the juke box.

Thanks Bob!
Funny you should say that, too. Because I had already done THIS.
Great minds… or something like that.

Some feedback from ChicagoIndieMusicLive.Blogspot.com:
"Nice loose vibe, musically...lyrically clever with a sense of humor... the song Beck wishes he could have written!"
I'll take it.
Nice!

Recording another new one.
Last night was a fun one -- I recorded bass and NINE tracks of guitar harmonies!
Plus assorted other guitar wankery that may not make the final edit, but… it still may.
Who knows, at this point?

Good tunage and Nice Tele! You'll have a lot of enjoyment twangin' with that. Spend the extra $100 and have it professionally set up for action and intonation, then you'll probably never put it down.
Try experimenting with some finger picking. Tele's are Great for that.
I've always had a strat in my arsenal, although my band MPG wants me to get a Gibson flying V. My main axe is a custom Carvin Calif carved top. The neck has a feel of a Strat, the sound of a Gibson, and the looks of a PRS.

Thanks, Duane!
I have a friend who is probably the best guitar tech in the US… people ship their guitars to him from all over the world and he regularly works on all sorts of famous folks' guitars. He's amazing.

I'm gonna bring my Tele to him to set up. And I also need my Strat re-fretted when I have a few hundred bucks that I can spend.
I do love my Tele, though!

Just listened to this one.
Very nice, good toe tapping groove.
Love the tambourine shake at the end too. :)

Nice one, Todd! I'm just coming off of a lot of Beatles listening, and you fit right in their somewhere. The ax sounds like a good one.

"Nice job. Reminds me of Nick Lowe. Travelling Wilburys. And I love the guitar solo. Very twangy."
It's funny that you should say that, John. I was just thinking about how quickly we bashed this recording out (9 hours total in the studio: 3 for basics, 3 for overdubs, 3 for mixing), and that it's reminiscent of Nick's recording style. That's why they called him "The Basher" -- when he went into the studio, there was no fussing about, he just bashed out the tunes!

Buddy Holly meets the Grateful Dead! Catchy track. The early Beatles called - they want their handclaps back! Keep bashin' brother Todd. Your work is always evolving in new and unexpected ways
