Sunday -- recording session
So, in a couple of days, I'm recording 2 songs with a band that I cobbled together that includes my long-time Hop On Pop drummer, Dave, and his friends Steve (who played bass with me on a few songs, already), and Chuck (with whom I am recording for the first time).
We're finally doing a full-band version of THIS SONG. And then, a new song that I have never recorded before, a power pop tune called "Break My Heart.

Sessions went great!
The band pretty much nailed both songs. Only thing that I had trouble with were the harmony vocals, but the engineer is an amazing singer and is going to add some subtle harmonies here and there.
Plus, on the one song, I think that I recorded the best guitar solo that I have ever played. It's also the hardest rocking thing that I've done since my early 90s punk bands.
WOOT!
I'll post when the mixes are done.

I had a quick listen to your new songs and they sound great. What is coming over is freshness and enthusiasm. High quality as usual. I will review one of your songs over the next day or two but in the meantime hello again my old buddy.

I think you'll dig the couple of new ones that I should be posting in the next couple of weeks or so. One is the most-pure power pop thing that I've done in, maybe… ever.
The other one is more ballad-y. Kinda like "Wild Horses" or something. At least as far as arrangement.
