Chance the Rapper donates $1M to Chicago Public Schools
I don't listen to much modern rap, but this kid is the real deal. And he has a huge heart to match his talent and integrity to burn.
Proud to claim him for my hometown.

I know him, he has a page here, used to write me to tell me about new releases and such. He took his songs down but the page is still there.

That is pretty remarkable.
And he's an unsigned artist?
Someone's giving him money if he can give away a million dollars.
That is very big hearted of the man.
Maybe he'll put some stuff here on his page,
I can't imagine why he would remove it.

He's a sincere guy, lot of good tunes, works with a talented conglomerate of people out in hop on pop's area. Bunch of different artists with soul.
An example of why it's bullshit to say no one has the goods these days.

Scott, Chance the Rapper has a page here still?
What's it called, or what's the link? I could not find it.
Very intriguing fellow.

Scott, for real. I just did the 'cut and paste' with this url you put here,
I got a '404' --does not exist, thing.
And I had thought of just 'chance'...
now I'm trying it again...
maybe I did it wrong.

Okay, guess I really am an idiot...
I typed it in manually, with 'chance' after the slash, and it did go to a page.
It didn't say 'Chance the Rapper' though,
(I had come across this, this morning)
and I thought it was a band called Chance,
unrelated to the rapper guy. So, this page IS Chance the Rapper, huh.
Wonder why he took his stuff away. He's made a big point of letting people
know he isn't about the money. So why not have some stuff here? I don't get it.
Oh well. There's a lot I don't get.

I don't think that's Chance The Rapper.
It says there that he is based in LA, whereas Chance the Rapper has always been based in Chicago. Plus, as the timing is concerned, some of those songs would have come out when he was 11 or 12.
Yeah. Just checked out the website: mynameischance.com and it is definitely a different artist who was here at IMP.
Bummer.

I'm sorry, does that mean that this is a separate band, called "Chance",
and that, Chance the Rapper was in fact not here?
So why would he email you and tell you about his new material?
I'm so confused now. Someone please fetch Captain Confusion,
so I can look slightly more in possession of a clue.

Regardless of whether he was here or not or if he was only fooling us,
for a guy who isn't about the money, isn't signed,
and God only knows who gave him a million bucks,
to give it away, that's downright saintly, so the guy's pretty cool for that.
