Larree deleted everything? ah I must've caused that. We had an argument on facebook yesterday. He said something ignorant to me and I told him not to talk to me again or i would nuke him. I was talking about on facebook though, not here.
But that's the way things are these days. He was one of the few truly active station managers so in that respect we don't want to lose him. but people lose interest in the site for one reason or another, I could beat myself up over it and I used to moreso but it becomes more obvious of late that you can't make people care about this site or indie music. Some do and always will but often even the ones that do eventually go on their merry way. There's really only one answer, I have to work to bring more folks here. Fuck we basically offer the site and all the extra stuff we do for free, should I really feel bad about the folks who get displeased with me, displeased with IMP? I don't get a lot of volunteers offering to help. There are a lot of people who dislike me unproportionately, undeservedly. All I can do is keep at it.

That's what he wants with this drama play but that's never happening. I'm still pissed off with what he said that started the facebook argument in fact. If somebody wants to throw a hissy fit and leave IMP, ok if it was Chandra or Francesca I'd chase them down :) , but Larree and some other prima donnas whose names I won't mention, I'll just write it off to artists being temperamental. I do way more than anybody knows to keep this IMP fire burning and I refuse to let folks make me feel bad when I did nothing wrong and a whole lot of things right.

It is a small field and they all know each other. And then you tried to justify it by saying the person you went off on was just the runner. And you think the runner isn't going to tell his or her boss what a fucktard you are? Who in turn will tell the other music supervisors what a fucktard you are? Prima Donna's, what do you think musicians are Scott.isnt that what most of us are, lol thats a laugher man. haha bottom line is this Facebook is no place to have disagreements and thinking you are going to come off on top , because ultimately it goes from bad to worse. there are no winners and anyone engaging in this behavior and trying to prove a point, wont.
Now if you want to engage people, and develop and grow your relationships. it can be done. but my advice is this, stay away from trying to be right.

I believe you Larree. some people can not take advice or correction. and some take it personally. attacks on a person is unacceptable. and i have seen it in the past years ago here. and today, and this place and attitude never changes. And it will never get to its fullest potential, trust me I know. Let's see, should I defend myself to 2 guys who come and go here regularly based on how they perceive I treat them? IMP lets them set up and operate their situations for free, I do all the grunt work and ya'll want me to feel bad. Larree wants me to behave like a suit, cares how I reflect on him when I know good artists who won't come here because of him. Bryon gets in the middle and often throws stones himself but comes off like he thinks he's holier than thou. I'm out there on the front lines every day tryin' to bring people here, I'm stewin' and brewin' in the background too, schemin' how to make things better with little resources to work with. I'm not tech savvy so I spend literally weeks on projects like how to set up an email system to send artist newsletters which I recently took on and lordy it was hard, I worked day after day after day, end up spending my own money cause I kept hitting snags. So y'all ain't happy with me. I wish that bothered me more but I'm sorry it doesn't. I don't really worry about artists having my back because I know I got theirs, if getting something in return was what i was here for, I'd have been gone long, long, long ago. Now I hope you like the site, I hope you continue to make yourself home here, but i can live with myself just fine either way, and there you have it.

Larree, the truth is, in the situation I was talking about with the lady from the Supergirl org, I wasn't going to her as an IMP rep, I was going to her in the function of helping manage the band in question. She knows nothing and cares nothing about iMP and indie music. Now, if you care one iota about us getting along, you will drop the angle of wanting me to act any way other than I choose to act. I represent MYSELF always and hate nothing more than people trying to control me by claiming stakes in me because I choose to do all the dirty work required to have this leadership position I burden myself with. I promise you every act of cajoling I undertake I am well aware of the possible downside involved. When you volunteer your very being to a cause as I have to the indie cause you might understand better what you speak of, how about we leave it at that.

Holier then thou Scott. get a grip dude. now we know what you do, or perhaps moer realistically have some insight of what you do, because we really dont know. But coming from a background of common sense business practices running and being involved with various companies, as a suit, and on the job running construction projects and climbing through the ranks from a lowly laborer grunt through to swinging a hammer and building large projects as a supervisor,. I have some idea of the hours and hours of unpaid work. starting at 6 in the morning on a job, going to the office to do quantity takeoff and estimating till midnight, for years, I know what goes on. but understand you do it completely as a volunteer and CEO. now being over an organization takes more then what you know, it is knowing how to conduct oneself and carry oneself, and seeing ones mistakes and misteps, I made plenty. expensive ones and it was embarrassing, but I always acknowledged those who were my co-workers, or associates. never did i call them out, calling them out or downplaying their importance. we are all team here, and I do my part as well, and have been doinng it for years, support artists here, building stations, writing reviews, listening to music, here and with my own company, now not so much as i am plodding along getting my own works out there, and have a hired gun who is making headway on my behalf, I couldnt do it, because this is the new age of music promotion, and streaming is the new radio, the old days of doing things have changed, I accept that, maybe we can all learn from this situation , and let cooler heads prevail, instead of judging one another about who is right or no, . I think if you took a step back. and not allow your emotions to blind you as they sometimes do,. I think you may appreciate what people like Larree are trying to get across. sometimes it is not about being right, but being able to evaluate things differently some of us i think have aspects to understanding the music biz better then you do, but then again. we dont know everything, and neither do you

Bryon, I ain't going to be a suit. I will never be a suit. I do 1000 positive things for IMP for every time I turn people off by being a so-called unprofessional. If I said what I was actually thinking about some of the crap I read on this thread you might have a point but I kept it pretty well contained.
Pretty much every time in my life I've been lectured by somebody for being unprofessional it's been by somebody who doesn't have the perspective I do, who doesn't put in the work I do. In my realtime business I recently got same lecture from somebody who needed my services far more than I needed the job he might provide me. Bottom line he doesn't have me working for him and I go on just fine, he doesn't have the answer to his problem was the result.
Now if you got somebody who does put in the work I do who also comports themselves in a way you find acceptably presentable, send em my way, I might just turn the keys over to em.

Bryon when I said lecture I was talking about what Larree said which started our fight on facebook. I'd add that it surely shouldn't depend on what I say whether on not you come by or not. I'm just a guy like you trying to do what I can.
