The craziest, coolest song that I have yet heard on IAC
Seriously.
Without taking anything away from any of the other amazing artists on this site whom I love so much, this may be my favorite thing that I have yet heard at the site. He just joined and I was checking out the "new Releases" and this song hit me like a ton of bricks!!!
He is in the same lunatic Brazilian-type thing as Tom Zé, and yet he sounds nothing like him. Hell, nothing like anything else that I have heard anywhere at IAC or not.
Leo Lago - "Anunziô Zumbi"
A warning: many of you will hate this or just plain not know what to think. If you are in the latter group, please listen again. I want to know what the hell drives this guy.
Wow.

Todd,
With that "party all around" thing going, I think you've discovered the South American Johnny Rivers!

F# the partay.. but it is a good song :D .. golly gee, did you hear Holo Ono got married?.. what kind of cigars should we bring to his/her party?
Edit:
If you are addressing your comment to me Ray, I don't know what you're talking about with "ilike'.. apparently Holo Ono changed their name to Sterling30 and has had issues with being banned from posting here?... same person as Diver Dan etc... I'm here to listen to the music, not partay + gossip spread via the media is pure B.S.and I am sick of it .. does that make sense?

Well, I'm confused, but not about the song....
This song is plenty weird, which I like. I'll have to listen again. It's a lotta fun. Not gonna be everyone's cuppa tea, for sure.

I just now see a post from Todd re: ilike.. whatever that is.. co-incidentally I've been using the words "i like" in several comments so I did not know if Ray was referring to that... looks like that is not the case. Shall we try to help mediate or drop it? :) I've got to punch out on the time clock now... hope they work it out.

Don't sweat it, Ray.

That is KILLER!!!!!
Actually were working on getting the kids to do a percussion ensemble piece in my class!
I cant wait to play this for them!
It's perfect, it's like Half of the 2/3 clave rhythm with lots of 16th note rolls!
It's a pretty neat sound!

Dude has a new album out.
And he's offering it FOR FREE, as a download.
Follow the (kinda confusing) links from his site.
I have yet to give it a listen, but I do appreciate the giveaway. Hopefully it'll work out for him. Go, Léo, Go!!!

I can't imagine why he would provide so much hype for that unless it's some kind of PR gambit. :D

Phlegm is right, Bananaboy.
I love the tune; the combo if African rhythms and Brazilian pop.
I've always been a sucker for Tropicalia -- Os Mutantes, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and ESPECIALLY Tom Zé. This song reminds me a bit of Tom Zé.
But, after listening to the albums, he really sounds more like a Brazilian Frank Zappa than anything else.
It's cool that you didn't like the song. Chalk it up to taste, leave the insults behind, and get on with it,
And, for the record, I have nothing to do with Léo Lago, I just stumbled on his stuff on the site and wanted to make sure that it wasn't completely overlooked, because I think that he deserves a listen.
