Leo Goldberg is now available for streaming.
Thanks to Andy Broad!
You may now hear my only (the world's only?)
punk/klezmer/country 2-step.
"Leo Goldberg's 2-Step"
Was it worth it?
Hell, it is just a trifle and the mix needs to be tweaked and I want some trumpet on there. But, it is fun and I hope you all like it as much as I like playing it.
(It's harder to play than it sounds! At least for a hack like me.)

I think you mean "you may *now* hear" lol
That's almost as good as one of my typos!
The tune itself is great fun, as I said in the other thread....

Just doing my part to ensure that this track gets the attention that it deserves.
Todd, are you familiar with any of the Radical Jewish Culture series on Zorn's Tzadik label? I'm betting you are, but if not, you should definitely check it out.
Love always,
Gremislav

I finally got a chance to check out the Goldberg 2-Step. Hip stuff Todd. Makes me want to order a beer in Yiddish.
Oy Vey!

Thanks for the comments, y'all.
And Steve: are you referring to Zorn's Masada series? I have heard some of it, but I really do need to actually pick up copies of those albums; they're probably my favorite things that he's ever done.
Also, if you want to hear some REAL klezmer music, I would be remiss if I did not send you the way of
The Alexandria Kleztet
Seriously good stuff. I have their tunes on a couple of my stations.

Masada is great, to be sure, but there's a huge list of titles in the RJC series. Here's the Big List. Granted, some of the releases have only the most tenuous connection to Jewish tradition, but if you're looking for authentic, traditional sounds, Zorn's place probably shouldn't be your first stop, anyway. I haven't heard all of the releases in the series but I've yet to be disappointed by any of the ones I have heard. As far as Masada goes, I highly recommend "Bar Kokhba" and "The Circle Maker" - they're string quartet/chamber ensemble arrangements of Masada tunes. Amazing stuff. The Electric Masada stuff is equally great.
Y2Klezmer! Thanks for the link.... I'd never noticed their page here before, which is strange because Klezmer is usually so well represented on the charts at iac....
Love always,
Gremislav

Wow.
It's not even the finished version, and it's scraping away at the top 100 for the "no genre" genre.
Is that even an accomplishment? Anyway... it seems cool.
Thanks, everyone.

And now it's #22 in the "No Genre" genre.
Kinda cool for a toss-off. (Yep. It does feel good.)
Let's see if we can push it to #1!!!
thus ends my promotional thread.
