I decided that i LIKE our album!
You see, I have been disappointed with the production of the thing for a couple of years now -- ever since its release, really. But I listened to it again last night and... I really do like it a lot.
It's pretty diverse, stylistically (for a pop album), but all the songs are good and the performances are pretty good, too. Yeah, I would have liked to have a different-sounding guitar here or there, but... the hell with it! This is a damn good record.
I am finally at peace with it, I think.
Any of y'all have similar problems with your own music?

Yea, every song I record! :) I could have added a harmony, another guitar part, some strings, I could have hit that note better, wish I added a bridge, wish the mix was better, wish I changed that lyric line... Wish wish wish :)
As writers and musicians, I think we are never satisfied. Problem for me, is I have limited time (a job, wife, and an 8 month old son) and a backlog of songs...when I am done I just move on to the next one. Probably not the best way to go about it, but If I did not do it this way I would forever peddle backwards. Time and money restraints will always be there. I learn to appreciate what was accomplished and move on. If I have an idea after the song is "In The Can", I usually try to incorporate it in the next song. Congrats on your album Pop, an accommplishment of bloos, sweat and tears :) something to be proud of!!!!. Jeff

"Problem for me, is I have limited time (a job, wife, and an 8 month old son)"
I feel your pain (or, rather, your joy); I have a job, a wife, TWO sons onder the age of 8, and a house.
Yeah, I feel like I NEVER have time to even write, but.... I keep plugging.
Congratulations on the son, Jeff. The hell with the Army, being Dad is the toughest job that you'll ever love. Provides good inspiration, too.
