The big number at the top of the page!
Nice traffic.
250K-plus!
And YOU SHOULD ALL BE LISTENING TO HOP ON POP!!!!!
;-)
Actually, it's very cool, despite my mock self-promo. And I presume that it's for the contest coming up soon, no? How you getting the word out?

If I knew what the word was I'd be getting it out. Until we know how to vote, there's not much to say.
But 261, 268 is a very exciting number!!

Big number at the top of the page? I must be missing something, or, maybe it's just "Prime" members? I had to let my prime membership lag for awhile...what page?
Thanks,
TF

The IAC Home, page or "Pipeline" page (www.iacmusic.com) at the top right shows the total number of registered artists and listeners in large type.

I thought we'd all established that number doesn't mean anything?
As far as traffic, holy crap though... lots of song plays for this guy. Kind of nuts actually for such a short time period.
Waka.

btw ... props to IAC support for damage control. The viral fuckers are a full time job to contain --
Gain a little note, they descend.
Personally I think the originators of the vermin should be held publicly accountable on a global scale, be held in stocks for humiliation that they were discovered, and put on webcam ... just for irony.

We never established that. It's simply the number of concurrent sessions. A session starts when a browser hits a page on the site. It ends after a certain period of inactivity. It runs higher now reflecting increased traffic. That simple..

You don't have to establish anything.
I run my own site. I deal w/ their impact daily ... and when I see 300, never mind 300k ... c'mon ... it defies reason.
The biggest sites on the net would be envious.
... and you'd think out of 300k concurrent browsers, SOMEONE might make more comments here ... besides, me, that is.
:^D

Sorry, none of this makes a bit of sense to me..... I have some serious questions...however, I will keep them to myself for fear of being labeled with some sort of Agenda. :)
The other post seeks to explain why very few out of thousands ever poke in here...
I am not buying it... sorry...no offense meant.

The post entitled "The Intimate World of the Pipeline" does in fact explicitly explain it.
About the figures - they're not the result of bots. They reflect open sessions. They are a good gauge of relative activity.
How it works has been explained many times, in greater depth by Bam, and by others. If you're not convinced then you probably won't ever be.
I think this would probably be a good place to leave it.
