Anybody in Chicago wanna play with me?
I think my band is ditching me.
We're all two-bands-in-one and the guy who's the leader of the other (not Hop On Pop) band is refusing to play the songs that I'm writing. He's on a creative roll and won't play the couple of songs that I'm trying to get rolling.
Meantime, I'm just starting to break out of my rut (or trying to), and can't get anything off the ground.
Anyond want to be in a band with me?

Anyone wanna play with me?
I'm kinda weird with my ideas and all. (Didn't get them all out on the last record, but I sure as hell will on this next one.)
So...
anyone?

So, yeah...
I moved my gear out of the rehearsal space last night.
It was pretty sad and, being overmedicated (for seizures), I was pretty damn emotional and raged at the drummer in the car (he has none and needed a ride to the space) the whole way there.
He just shoulda kept his mouth shut and let me vent, but I don't think he knows how to. Not his fault. He's an Academic.

I'm still looking.
Is anyone here from Chicago?
You wanna play with me?

Thats the Beauty of Multitracking...It allows me to Play with Myself :)~
Good Luck Todd, don't let it get you down, you can still make great music on your own. Lately, I have seen Solo artists out Playing their material to their own backing tracks... They sing and play guitar live. Its a shortcut, but the audience did not seem to mind because the Live element was still there.

I'm imagining a new band created by 2 frustrated and disenfranchised Pipeliners from Illi-noise called "Hop on 2 Silos."

I thought you'd be a good bandmate the first time I heard your music.
Sorry my support must be geographically limited to morale only. I can't even collaborate online because I'm using an archaic minidisc eight-track.
Cedars of Lebanon toured last summer with the backing tracks thing that Jeff mentioned. Entirely because of not being on the same wavelength as other musicians. I think he has only one guy he jams with (of all the excellent players and friends he has). I caught his act in Winnipeg, and Jeff is correct -- it goes over very well. Sounded really good. Guys he played with formerly toured with him in a different band, but he played solo with tracks.
I'm considering the same thing because none of the musicians I currently play with are committed to original material. They either don't really like it (rather do covers), don't have the ability, or just don't want to do the work. This is a very common problem, no doubt.
I'm glad our practice (the cover band) was canceled tonight because I saw your blog earlier and had to respond. Allow me to encourage you and I do hope that you find new bandmates because that, of course, is always the most fun (when it works)
Your Canadian pal, eh?

Sorry,
Chicago is a bit far from Sydney for me....
Sometimes when things happen is to make room for more important and better things to come...
Best of luck,
Vincenzo

Have you considered on line collaboration. Dirge made all her songs without ever leaving the house.F-Jam on line has recently taken on quite a few new members including some very good vocalists.

Thanks DK's mum, but I simply do not possess the technology to do so.
I have spoken with a musician/engineer last night who I may collaborate with soon. It won't be a band situation, but at least I'll be making music.

This is supposed to be a good free 8 track software for recording music. F-Jam has done tutorials on how to use it.
