What To Do?
I am not sure so I thought I would ask. . . multiple genres on an album. Is that cool?

I have enough songs in Country, Rock, Funk/Soul/R&B, Folk, Pop, and Blues to have an album or two in each genre. Should I just invent band names under each genre and release albums according to genre?

I am not sure so I thought I would ask. . . right now, I have albums laid out containing multiple genres, good or bad?

Thanks for the help!
Mark

Multiple genres on an album is more than cool.

Country, Folk and Blues should work very well.

It worked for the Beatles and the Stones and lots of great bands.

Variety is the spice of life, eh?

I wouldn't do it even though I am a multiple genre artist. The reason why I wouldn't do it is because the online storefronts tend to display and market according to genre. Having too many genres on a project may spread it thin in regards to market placement and value. Also, many consumers get alienated when a project doesn't appear to be consistent in content style. The variety may scare them away thinking there is only one or two songs there that they would like. Just my opinion but hey, its your world. Follow your gut!
