"Four Walls" , Now McCartney-Free!
"Four Walls" , Now McCartney-Free!
To appease my critics, I editted out the McCartney verse,
and slowed down the tempo a bit and Voila! No more controversy!
Still to this day I have not heard back from them,
which is odd since some of you shot me down harshly for using his verse
and yet They hadn't contacted me with a "Go Ahead" or a "Cease & Desist" order.
I guess IMP has more Power than MPL Communications or McCartney himself. Go figure!
So to play it safe, I deleted the song from IMP,
and also did so a couple days later off Soundclick, for I am sure one or 2 (or more)
of you contacted Soundclick to warn them about my song being up with an, according to you,
Unauthorized use of a McCartney verse. Even though Legally I was able to do so
because His name was on the credits and it's a new Sound Recording using an extended sample.
I just recently found out I could had Legally used it as well if I had said it was a Mash-Up,
though the title would had had to be changed to "Four Walls/Band On The Run",
although I didn't use the famous part of that song anyway.
Well, anyway, like I said I editted out his verse, and though the solo now sounds like it's off track by a fraction of a beat here and there (Original guitarist wasn't available to recreate it), it is now an Official version of My song.
The structure changed a bit as it's now just a one verse song.
It's now Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Break, Bridge, Chorus.
I have no other songs with that odd structure but it seems to work.
Maybe now you can listen and enjoy this song.
It may be up for a limited time only, or may stay for good, not sure,
since I rarely get any recognition or praises (with the exception of 1 or 2 here and there)
With so many songs I previously had posted, it never was a Featured Song, nominated for a Kayak, or even added to stations (with the exception of, again, 1 or 2 here and there.)
So I hope you all like it, it's a good song with a good message
and hopefully maybe someone would like to cover it.
Sounds like a true John Lennon sound-alike can do it justice.
So without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen,
I present the new and improved "Four Walls"
Four Walls
Words and Music By Jayson Dyall
Behind these sad brown eyes
The tears I try to hide
Inside, these four walls
Thoughts of the one I loved
Takes flight like a white dove
My eyes' a waterfall
And where do I go from here
To make the hurt disappear
Only love, can give life, or pain
Love, let me breathe again
There is no doubt about it
We can not live without it
Yet it can tear us apart
And there's just so much that a heart
Can endure over time
(Break)
And there's no doubt about it
We can not live without it
Yet it can tear us apart
And there's just so much that a heart
Can endure over time
And where do I go from here
To make the hurt disappear
Only love, can give life, or pain
Love, let me breathe, let me live, again.....

Hey Jay,
I'm glad you're still with IMP. It would be crazy to leave over one little dust up with a song issue. That being said, I like the lyrics a lot and I agree with my learned colleagues, Jeff and Bryon that the vocals need work. It's a sweet song with a wonderful overall atmosphere. Things are recorded well but again I echo what already has been said about the guitar solo. I don't have a problem with the notes played but the shrill sonics of the "key-tar" sound distract from the beauty from the song. That obviously needs some work. It's an ambitious effort and I really admire all the hard work and passion that went into it. As you mentioned, you're still perfecting it, so at least you're on the right track. I don't think anyone needs to cover the whole song from scratch. It's well produced as it is. It just needs a better vocal and a better sounding guitar solo. In my opinion all the other instruments sound great.
