frankly
frankly, cased has new material and we dont want to put it up here....when an "indie" page lets an artist of the year be a girlfriend of pete townsend, instead of a shit load of other bands who actually NEED the help, we say, you all are no different than the mainstream label shit we have to deal with...

what a shame too...this HAD potential, but once you all opened that door, BAM, ruined this....

Frankly, that's too bad.

I put my music here because I want people with new and fresh ideas like myself to listen to it and give me honest opinions.

There's a lot of "mainstream" artists who are tired of dealing with the major labels bullshit and can see what kind of talent is out there. I personally think it's cool that some of these artists have an open mind enough to listen to what we have to offer. The major labels are starting to open their eyes to the power of the people (Indies).

If anybody's "girlfriend" wrote a song, I would judge it on the merit of that person, not who she's bunking with. It takes years to be good enough to write great material. I don't think Pete's girlfriend started doing this last week.

If you hung around long enough to read this,........frankly,...... have a good day.

Actually that's not exactly true, what you stated. Rachel Fuller wasn't Artist of the Year here. Her and Pete won Indie Song of the Year in the first year of Golden Kayaks which was based on a poll vote. This past year, Rachel and Pete were in the same tournament and lost several matches and were eliminated. Even well-known indie 50 Foot Wave lost in the finals to Stealing Venus. I'd say this last year the indie vote came out in larger amounts. The idea that we should keep name acts off the site because of the sanctity of competing with "pure" indies to me is kind of short-sighted because there's no question that the music compares favorably. Listeners that come here to hear material from Townshend they can't get elsewhere may listen to a lot of indies while they're here. He's not competition. It's an honor to have him here. IAC is about quality music but you better believe we know who this site is for. We're indies ourselves for cryin out loud.. :D

Anyway I hope you choose to put up your new songs, look forward to hearing them.

If I like your music, then you get my vote, it's as simple as that... Doesn't matter to me where you came from, who your Daddy is or who your screw'in today.. Most of us here are all feel pretty much the same about this.. and everyone here does the voting... There is a lot of good music on this site, it would be nice to hear yours here as well.. If not, well the world won't stop turning... This is by far THE BEST INDIE site on the web today... Stick around a bit and I think you'll see that for yourself ...
Peace Now

I agree with the others-- I hope you guys change your minds. IAC has more artistic integrity crammed into this site than the whole history of major label material. In fact, I would say that Pete Townshend is lucky to be on a site with this much talent. I haven't listened to mainstream music for years and instead have been going to little listening rooms and bars to hear highly talented artists/songwriters that consistently create and perform better music than anything you'll ever hear on the radio. IAC gives me that same feeling. The regulars here have a deep appreciation for music and artistry and I am blown away every time someone leaves me a nice message or adds my songs to their station.

By the way, I am listening to your material right now and you guys have some great tunes. Please reconsider!! Best, -JP Sharpe

...and now "Cased" are getting views and plays from curious browsers! So, here's the checklist for getting noticed (mix and match as desired)
1) Be very nice (hard work)
2) Be very nasty (easy for some)
3) Be very shocking (cliches a-plenty for that)
4) Be very verbal (fill a page without boring - a challenge !)
5) Be very knowledgable (drop names, facts and figures - without boring)
6) Be very socially aware (charities, good causes etc - not a criticism, just a fact)
7) Be very good (why didn't we think of that earlier)
8) Be very bad (get the sympathy or alternative vote)
9) Be very patient (everything comes to he who waits)
10) Be very egotistical (listen to your own songs, every day)
11) Be very good to look at (play with the camera or the air brush)
.....and
12) if all else fails try 'complaining' and you too can jump the exposure queue.

Oh, maybe a few more - how about, humour, sarcasm, tongue in cheek, deviation, pain in the ass (or is that just us?) Shame we don't have any songs up today, so resist the click people)
