Mr. Phlegm -Coming from you, the King of Punk, that means the world to me!
If I ever make it big commercially ($$$$) you will be first on my list for
studio financing of your masterpieces. (not because you're so supportive, but because your music deserves it)

Sorry for the sudden side jack, Rich ... but it's an honorable mention I make ... and I'm still banned from posting new subjects, so I'm imposing.
Yet in the category of "Big Thank You" ... I'd like to thank my mate of 30+ years and wife of 25 this day ... for I love her and I'm not bashful about that.
I now return all to the previous channel ... but since I know you and know you care about such important things ... I also know this little side mention regarding love is something you won't mind being side jacked for ... and I appreciate that.
Best,
Kev-

I think that we, as musicians, are all a product of the music that we listen to and are not necessarily trying to sound like anyone. Sometimes it just happens that way.
Listen to the aforementioned Tom Waits (of whom I am a fan, by the way) and I hear a lot of Kurt Weil and Louie Armstrong.
Hopefully, however, as artists, we are able to inject a lot of our own personality into our music. That is the ultimate goal, is it not? Self expression.
As far as real success is concerned, that is as much a product of luck as it is of talent and very hard work.
Thanks for listening to all of us, Doobie.

If you'd like to see Brother John go from #2 to #1 in the 2009 KIAC Cong Contest (Classic Rock/Retro Category), please vote for it as often as you can. I don't have a myspace page where I can nationally advertise for friends/voters. I'm proud I got to #2 in contest on that alone without the help of outside organizations and mass recruiting. But please don't vote for Brother John unless you truly feel it deserves to win. It's not about me. It's not about the prizes. It's about the song and what it represents. I get by with a little help from friends and be assured that I am voting everyday for your songs that deserve to win too. May the best songs win. Regardless of the outcome, I'll be happy with my accomplishments and I'll always be gratetful to the people who helped me acheive them.
Thank you,
Richard

Richard, I'm adding votes your way too but agree it is based on the song -
isn't that why all of us are here on IAC anyway?
We can play the other "game" of promotion on the other web sites but here we should stay true to the songs that deserve our attentions.
Best of luck for your tunes!

Thanks for your support, Dave.
You have a work ethic that I admire and I like your use of video.
I'd like to use video too but my computer doesn't have enough memory because I have so many songs on it. Video takes up mucho memory but I'm hoping someday to get an upgrade when finances permit. Then I'd have to get a video camera. So many toys, so little cash!

Thank you Richard! I cracked up when you said "Let's get this Party Started" earlier. haha! I pictured Pink stumbling in with her fun-funky hat on. If iac starts tracking me and the mischeif, I might need a safe place to hide out for awhile. Maybe in that Well? "Before the Well Runs Dry" (great Richard Scotti song)
By the way, when does the iac song contest end? Just curious, I'm so behind on what's happening here. ugh.

Thanks Rob,
One of the best things about being here is making friends like you. Although we may be competing in some of the same genres in the contest I will be as happy for your wins as my own. As you know Silver Wood, the song I wrote about your daughter who is no longer with us was a life changing experience for me and had a profound impact on my songwriting. I want to thank you for all the support you have given me and my music and for all the radio stations you created which support and promote so many artists here at IAC. You make a profound contribution to this website with your generosity, your civility, and your immense well of artistic creativity that never seems to run dry. Thank you Rob, Leo and Jake for all that you do to make this a better place. You're a humble family and don't like to call attention to your good deeds, so I thought I'd do it for you because you deserve the recogniton.
As for Ash, She's An Angel and the Goddess of my Dreams (but Where Do Lost Dreams Go?) Pink is no competition for her!

I wanted to come back to this topic again. Yanno I'm so nosey and all. Look at all these friends and artists here who love you! It is overjoying to see this. Richard and Rob complementing eachother on all levels, seeing the mutual respect and friendship is so so so touching and inspiring and should go a long way if anybody stops in here to read this Topic. I think after listening to Silver Wood, I have a better understanding of some things.
You both are magical potions in my much cherished pursy pouch. I guard it with my life. Well, unless somebody wants some dreamydust, I share share nice nice. But I randomly snarl sometimes. I once had a dream that Pink and I had a catfight. meow!
