My cover of Hop On Pop's "The Yummy Song" featuring Grega Habic
Here it is! Lord knows I never proclaimed myself to be a singer but I think it works OK for this song. This is the first serious vocal I've ever done on a tune, at least singing. Grega Habic contributed his guitar genius and it really sets the tune off. Plus I gotta give props to Todd for writing a great feel good tune. I had a lot of fun with this one. Enjoy!

I like it a lot, Jesse!
And, as I told you before... I think that you should do more singing; you have a really good voice.
Thanks for honoring me!

I should add that this is of course, the greatest cover song ever to have been made. If you don't listen to it, you might go forth many years in your life wondering what has been missing the whole time...
haha

I think it's cool. I've not heard Todd's version, but it is proof he's a songwriter.
Nice recording.

Technically a COVER of an IAC Artist, by another IAC Artist --- and CURRENTLY my favorite of these....
Until I get to do the cover of J. P. Sharpe's :"I used to be cool back in high school blues" with TODD.
And no mutha fuckas, that's NOT a promo, I just though Todd & Jesse would like to know that.
By the way, Welcome again to PHLEGM PHAVORITES y'all !

Nice work Jesse. Sing more... definitely.
Made me revisit Todd's original... Q: Todd - are you gonna do another studio version of this? I saw your comment where it seems you'd thrown a mic up in a room... just wondering. Great pop writing Todd.

Phlegm, Steve and Auset, thanks you guys. :) This is an IAC exclusive if you will, I didn't put it up anywhere else. I really related to this song when I was working on it... a lot of the time it felt like my song, like I'd written it or something.... very cool connection.
Phlegm, looking forward to that cover!
Auset I love your voice, I'd be honored if you'd sing on a song of mine sometime... just a thought...

Excellent Job! I listened to Todd's song, and then your version. You nailed it, and brought a great energy and your own sound. I am sure Todd is proud that such an excellent musician took the time to interpret his song. Really excellent performance all around. Congrats... Keep up the great work Jessie, glad you are on Iac...
Regards,
Jeff

Really? That would be great! I'd love to do like a simple acoustic number or something with you on vocals, and if I'm feeling crazy maybe me on backup if it fits? Would be awesome.
I will definitely put this on my "to do" list... thank you Auset! :D

Really tight Jesse. I know how Todd feels. I've always enjoyed other bands' takes on my tunes. They never fail to find something I never knew was there.
You packed a ton of playing into 2:15.. great job all around from songwriter to performers.

Thanks LarsMars. :) Todd made it easy for me.
"I've always enjoyed other bands' takes on my tunes. They never fail to find something I never knew was there."
I know exactly what you mean... I've learned that from working with Grega. It's always interesting to hear what comes out of others people heads when listening to your music. They hear things you don't, like you said, and you're left kind of going, "Oh yeah I never would have thought of that... cool!"
It's made collaborating quite enjoyable for me.
