Obviously, the water he SHOULD have worried about came from a direction he hadn't quite appropriately anticipated (however prepared he THOUGHT he was)!

I'm not sure this pic is only from a few days ago... according to MSN it is, but after looking at jingo's pic I think it's the same dude... same bike, same outfit, same colored umbrella. jingo's had that pic for what, at least a couple of months yeah? Something... fishy is going on here. :)

It is the same guy! Same umbrella, same orange case, same black bike. I don't remember where or when I snagged the pic, but it was a while back, at least a few months ago.
So: If MSN claims this pic was just taken:
1. They are lying journalistic hacks
2. This man needs to STAY AWAY FROM BICYCLES.
3. This man is determined to work up a lawsuit against either the bicycle company, the umbrella company, or both.
Isn't it comforting to know that if you crash and burn and fall flat on your face, there will be someone there to snap pictures of it so the whole world will have a chance to witness the very moment of you disgrace?

Haha!
It's funny you should mention that though. According to the article, the man who took the picture was criticized for not warning anyone and instead waiting for some unsuspecting, bike riding, orange case having, umbrella toting fellow to crash and burn. The mans defense was that if he hadn't taken the photo(s) the government would have never known about the pothole.
But it was also featured on "This Week In Pictures" so who knows.
