For those of you who think there's no such thing as original music anymore...
... listen to this. Music has been around so long, obviously it's next to impossible to not incorporate familiar elements into new songs, but to me it's ridiculous when people say you can't be original anymore because it's all been done. Not quite.

Very Cool Jesse!
For some reason I was reminded of a very small hint of Meatloaf with a twist. I gotta change my meds I guess.
Originals aren't dead by any means! You're only restricted to your point of view and limitations. I myself am starting to sound reputitious and that's when I know I have to change a few things around and experiment more.
I have a new tune up I like called FATE
Plus I'm working on another right now. I only stopped to take a break and check out IAC.

Cool tune. It started off sounding so UNORIGINAL that I didn't think you knew what you were talking about, but then, wow, it took some col turns. The song was over at about the 3 1/2 minute mark, though. Everything after that was kind of self indulgent IMHO.

Must be a YouTube link, because I can't see the vid. Hopefully I'll catch it at home.
As far as original stuff, there's a guy here at IAC that I believe I've mentioned before.
I believe that this song will demonstrate my point.

I can understand the meatloaf reference..... more like Freddy Mercury, when he did Rockabilly style on a few tunes.... This song Jesse, has a standard Rockabilly beat intro & vocal stylin' and then goes into a nuevo/retro psychedelic vibe....well done, with Devin's unique twist. Shit, that's what original music is; a fusion or tweaking of what has been experienced before, with your own personal flavoring.
In my opinion, that is.
Honestly, I think that's all NEW music is about; puttin' a TWIST on what has influenced you or caught your ear in the past. We gots to REMEMBER -- Music has been evolving for thousands of years.....
TODD -- I DID dig that tune by Leo Lago.... one of my favorite WORLD BEAT tunes, thus far -- it progresses nicely with multiple styles and layered voices and a danceable latin-based beat. Some GREAT stuff comin' out of BRAZIL these days, in MANY genres of music....
Just stoppin' in fer a moment, in between the reality of job search. Thanks for givin' me a reason to voice some musical opinions guyz.

Yeah..... I've alwayz wondered WHO Bananafishu really is. C'mon Todd, is it YOUR fun side project?
DIG the Bananafishu tune, so it's on my Bananafishu station, with Bananafishu and also little bit of Bananafishu. But this week I've been listenin' to a lot of Bananafishu.
You know the Station: Bananafishu Bananafishu

I agree with your point that anybody who says it's all been done is stupid.
The song for me was bearable but not any great example of originality.
