In the early 1970's while on R&R from Vietnam, I was sent to Hawaii and went to a concert to see A new band called Earth Wind & Fire. After hundreds of concerts all over the world and the USA, it still remains the single most amazing concert I have ever witnessed.

I used to be a big Jethro Tull fan, and they always put on quite a spectacle. My favorite show of theirs was one I went to with two nice, pretty girls I'd met in Alaska and started a relationship with (Yeah). They never got big acts in Alaska, so it was fun to introduce them to something new. Ian Anderson is a master showman and always surrounded himself with exquisite musicians.

Yes, the Doors were incredible in concert. I saw so many great concerts because I either played at or worked behind the scenes at several important venues. Because of that, it's hard to say which one was the best. They were all incredible. I could only make a list of the top ones (in no particular order) ~ The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones with Mick Taylor, Stevie Wonder, The Band, Bob Dylan with the Band, George Harrison, The Byrds and the list goes on but I'll stop here. It was one wild ride in an era with a staggering amount of incredibly talented artists. Those kinds of amazing experiences (the concerts) are hard to quantify. They made me who I am today.

OK, Richard, with a killer list like that, I really must say that we need to invent a time machine so I can relive your youth with you.
I just remembered a great one - I used to volunteer usher at concerts with a friend of mine. We saw Peter Tosh that way. It was in Berkeley and, as you can imagine, it was the most colorful crowd you have ever seen. The whole venue was just one big celebration of music, and color, and ganja, and culture. Good Times!
