Five years on, what's changed for you?
Got a message about the relaunch and stopped by for old times sake. I was always made very welcome at IAC but work commitments, then marriage and motherhood came along in the last 5 years. I can't see too many changes but many old faces are missing I think (Man with no band, Ray Porter, Hugh Hamilton, Larree, Maria Daines, Bluto, Susan Raven/Satch are ones I remember). It was strange reading my old bio, like I was planning to improve my piano playing and I was actually singing in a family band, neither of those things continued. Still enjoy Doris Day however, I sing her songs to my new little daughter Bella. I'll try to find a picture of her for my page, she's a cutie.
What's changed in your life in the last five years I wonder?

Hi Amanda,
well you are absolutely right, time moves on, things change , we change , situations change. A lot of people who used to frequent this blog and interact have probably moved on to more important aspects to their lives. Some dealing with health challenges, others got fed up and just left, and still some just dont have the initiative or time to spend online here. I think Facebook and twitter probably contributed to that. So many social media things to be a part of.
As for me, I have been around here, basically for almost since the old iacmusic started, maybe a few years in, not much as a musician, although I am one, and have been in bands, but as a promoter and manager of bands. I would upload the music to the old iacmusic.com of the ones I promoted like the blue voodoo, summer and the sinners, tommy alto, the harpoonist and the axe murderer, neil harnett, cheryl casselman and countless others, too many to list here. And i still am doing this gig, pitching artists music to terrestrial radio, satellite internet radio etc. It is a most rewarding and satisfying thing to see the progress of these groups over the years and finding new ones, like the conscious rednecks who I am managing and promoting right now. thanks for swinging by, it is good to see people who have been here before come back and check it all out.

I think I was a lot more carefree then. Seems I can't put little problems out of my head these days.
Incidentally I heard Larree might be coming back to the site.

Hi Byron, seems like you've been busy, I checked out your station, couldn't find Conscious Rednecks but I'll look out for them, it made me smile that REDnecks might be BLUE collar musicians.
Hi Scott, I hope the little things don't spoil the big ones for you. Laree was funny, had a lot of stations, always cursing as I remember.

Hi again Amanda,
Yeah, a bunch of rednecks with blue collars wanting the green money. So yeah, they are still recording. but have some clips about. Not yet up on indiemusicpeople.com, maybe in the fall I will get some songs up here at IMP.
As for their music, It is more country, maybe new country, some traditional a mix. but with a real good message behind every song, some of the songs are rocking country with a bit of an "redneck"edge, we will see how it goes.
Originally tarted as a concept thing, grown to something more like a band and now sounding pretty decent. It is a process, developing something like this. I drop in on the practices every so often for meetings, taking some video of the recordings, and just to take in the whole scene,.
They are at Conscious Rednecks Facebook Fans
Website is at Conscious rednecks there are some clips and a bit of what is going down there
A complete song is here Too many bridges
We will have a whole album in the Fall and that is when we work it to radio. fests and special appearances. Thanks for your interest. cheers Bryon
Ps I have stations called the eye, music is truth and the Gatekeeper and a whole lot more and of course Voodoohead Productions artist station

Oh thanks for that, I liked the mellow, laid back feel and I love a Country fiddle in a production. The logo is great by the way. I'm not a huge Country fan but sometimes it really hits the spot.

Well Amanda, I grew up with the country thing going on, I mean old time country ,so you can see I aint a young dude. in my 60s, my dad listened to country music all the time. On 78's, Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, johnny Horton, Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, Roy Acuff, also Classical Music was a huge influence with my Mom as a well qualified musician, she was an accomplished pianist and well educated in the Theory Harmony History RCM of music Canada, that is what i was trained in, All classical piano and studies in the music end of it till I was maybe 16-17. Then along came the Beatles and changed everything.
Country Music is so different now, a great range of styles within that genre, so much music. And yes a good fiddle is a wonderful thing to have for sure.
Looks like you came from a very musical family too, and a pianist , seems like you had some good background in that area as well as the singing part of it. cheers
