Radio DJs not as good as they were ?
Have you ever heard the end of a really good song on the radio and been left wondering who and what it was. This happened to me a few times now, it's very frustrating. I wish DJs would make more of an effort, they are more interested in promoting themselves or the next programme or trying to be funny sometimes. Are there any really good radio hosts left, they seemed so much better in the past.

Thank you so much for linking me to this, I was just finding about about your talented daughter and this recording added greatly to her story. I guess English radio may be more inspiring than the shows we have over here. I'm up late tonight as I've been catching up on the Olymics (have a friend who just failed to qualify in the long jump), but I have the radio on now and I can identify with anyone who likes to live in their own little musical world, it is a great escape and relaxation mostly.

Hi Amanda, I'm glad you enjoyed the broadcast. Dirge loved to watch athletics, she always knew the dates and times of all the events at every meeting, although I don't know what she would have thought about the Olympics being held in China. I just wish she was here to be able to see it in London in 4 years time. She always had music playing, her favourite artist was Fiona Apple.

DK's mum, That's sad to think about, you are from London aren't you so you must go for her if you can.
I don't know Fiona Apple too well though my friend find a "Where's the pawn" (I think) album at our local market a couple of weeks ago co-incidentally.
Am&a (Thanks Susan, I must watch that in future, the idea just struck me one day)

I work at a radio station and I'm a DJ myself, my bro being the Program Director. The thing is, most radio stations these days are being taken over by the corporate boys, and the DJ has no room to say or play what he wants. They give you liner cards, and you're told what to say and when to say it, that's it. It's really lame. I happen to work at a station where we can still do as we want mostly, but that's about to come to and end in about a month. Ever heard that song "The Last DJ" by Tom Petty. That's what it's about.
