I have read most of Hubbard's science fiction, he was a great story teller. I am convinced he started Scientology as a practical joke and I find it difficult to believe anyone would take it seriously.
Isaac Hayes was a great artist. However I think he was wrong about Scientology. Life is like a beanstalk isent it?

Scientology just makes me sad. The ULTIMATE pyramid scheme --money making SHAM, turned RELIGION based on a Science Fiction NOVEL!
It's dumber than mormonism.

The alien that educated L. Ron Hubbard didn't teach him this. L. Ron Hubbard didn't pay attention to the actual lessons and made up his own which make no sense.

I don't think it's for everyone but it sure is taken seriously by people who adhere to it. And I enjoy Hubbard's unique outlook on life and the way he ironically is able to separate fact from fiction or reality from fantasy despite the fact he was a science fiction writer himself. I guess that by default should give anyone a unique perspective on things that matter most to people, like what is in fact real in regards to alleged illnesses being the best example. The masses still wait in line for treatments for diseases that legitimate science will never be able to validate though the damages the alleged cures do have been proven routinely to harm those same people, often irreparably, who put complete faith in the greatest work of Science Fiction ever written, the DSM-IV. This abomination of heath care make it possible for often upwards of 40% of schoolchildren to be given daily doses of Schedule II controlled drugs while administrators pose with local police proudly holding signs proclaiming their schools "drug free zones", and most people still believe this. (I could go on but you get the point..)
Of course these type of atrocities didn't fly past L. Ron Hubbard unnoticed and he spent pretty much his entire life helping people become aware of such travesties.
It's not my faith, it's too complex for me to figure out but I do see Scientologists making a real difference for people who don't even know who L. Ron Hubbard was. When you see the black box warnings on medications or now must listen to all the warning about the latest drug Big Pharma is trying to traffic and it makes you pay closer attention to potential dangers that you would otherwise would not have done in the past, when you in fact take part in that decision making process and find the initiative to become informed due to these type of warnings that are now mandated you can thank L. Ron Hubbard for that.
And you can thank Isaac Hayes too..

Oh, Gregg, please tell us more about the wonderfulness that is Scientology. So many of us are yearning to know the great truths that only L. Ron Hubbard was enlightened with. Please, Gregg. Please, please with sugar on top.

LOL, is that Gregg?
I guess that makes sense.
It's interesting how 2 intelligent people like Will Smilth and Tom Cruise can be duped into buying that stuff, if it indeed is all a load of crapola.

Is this what you're looking for Dan?
"Scientology is the gateway to eternity. It is the path to happiness and total spiritual freedom. Until one has experienced the technology of Scientology it's unlikely that one will ever experience these wonderful discoveries. I know because it has worked for me. The more time and effort I invest, the more I receive. I highly recommend it."
-Isaac Hayes
