I could say the same about you but McCain probably isn't able to raise enough funds. :>)
This election is a complete no-brainer. One candidate is the smartest we've had in my lifetime, and it doesn't hurt that he is charismatic like the Kennedys. The other candidate is a short tempered, semi senile, war mongering liar.
I can't see how any human who isn't wealthy looking for tax breaks or over 80 in age would want anything to do with McCain. He's an embarrassment even to the Republican party and that's saying a lot.

Think of it this way..
A 25% kick in pay + 5g cash if McCain wins the election. And as a further incentive there will be $500 for every Obama blogger you recruit and an additional $500 per head if McCain again wins the election.
So doing the simple math.., bring 10 Obama bloggers to Mcain's side and thats worth an extra 10g to you if McCain wins. 20 = 20g but if you bring 50 over Holo, 50 Obama bloggers from his current stable that bonus could double for you.., that would be over 100g in cold, hard cash in just the next 4 months..
Still think McCain is on the losing side???
(Opportunity is knocking Holo..)

Neither of these candidates are actually qualified for the position. At least McCain is a proven hero, albeit in another war we shouldn't have been in. Obama doesn't have the kind of steel balls ruling a country takes.
We should all say to hell with the both of them and both of their corrupt political parties and vote libertarian or green.
How long can this bipolar mockery of a democracy continue?

why is Obama unqualified?
I hear that said all the time but then when you get into reasons there's nothing to back that claim up...
What were reagans qualifications?
a fucking movie star in crappy films who went on to be a crappy governer?
The qualification to be president is to have good ideas, have a strong sense of civic duty and have a sincere ambition to defend the constitution.
Barack has that and more, he has a brilliant legal mind, I think he has a real desire to unite a sharply divided country.
McCain is Horribly divisive, he's rash and abrupt and he's shockingly ignorant. If it weren't for guys like Li8eberman whispering in his ear he couldn't get anything right.
I seriously think he's in early stages of dementia....
That speech he gave a Sturgis is just alarming, was he drunk?
fuck...I dont want that fucking guy in the oval office!
so he's a POW, thats great, he deserves honor and respect, he's certainly a case study in PTSD, he doesn't get to be fucking president just because he crashed 5 planes and was captured...
The fact that he couldn't even hold his ground on Torture says it all to me, the guy has no real moral compass, he's crazy and shockingly duplicitous. (or forgetful...)

Never I think you sound Like Holo with F Words :)
Say what you want about Reagan, but he was the Govenor of a State that has a larger GDP then most nations. I was a Kid when he was govenor, but I have lived in the state for 41 years.
Reagan had a very effective Presidency as well. People may disagree with his politics and some conservative issues, but he did well by the United States. Obama is still a Junior Senator, and the jury is still out on his "Brilliant Mind" Until he proves it those are just hollow words. McCains Sturgis comments were not that bad, I posted a few clips of Obama sounding like a complete idiot and they were dismissed as fatigue. Put a microphone in your hand and talk everyday, you are bound to say some pretty stupid things.
Bashing the other candidate will not get you anywhere, it will not change anyones minds. In fact, it will bolster the resolve of his supporters, and may even push a few over to their side.Words Like "Idiot" "Buffoon" "simpleton" "senile" are just hate filled insediary words.
Bottom line, one of the two will be President....they are each serving their country, and I am sure each has the best intentions. Show some fricken respect, even if you don't agree or like the other candidate. there is a 50-48 % chance your man will lose, be an American first....spend time supporting your issues, not condemning the next President of the United States...that goes for both McCain and Obama.

Jeff, when a guy is slurring his speech, getting basic information wrong and forgetting things he said just weeks before that IS a serious issue,. I'm not just calling him names here, this man shows some very unsettling behavior.
And I lived through the Reagan administration, I watched him Gut all the energy and fuel saving policies that Carter had brought us, I watched him create death squads in Central America and cause generations of terror is his shrill campaign to halt socialism, while actually just furthering corporate interests and terrorizing native peoples. I have dear friends who lived through that period in Guatemala.
I watched him dismantle government, turn mental patients out on the street and basically pave the way for our current separation of classes and out of control melding of military action with corporate interest...
He was a blight on this country, and his perceived Cowboy Maverick Image may have caused people to overlook how dangerous he was...
I'd really hate to see that chapter revisited, especially with how delicate the world stage is today. We dont need a God damn guns blazing cowboy in the white house.

Reagan did enlist in the military but when ordered to active duty, he was found to be nearsighted and classified as limited service only. He served in duties in the US.
I think he met your qualifications to be President. There were many actors and entertainers who served their country, most notably Audie Murphy. Being an actor, in great movies or bad, doesn't necessarily make one inept at politics.
"In 1986 Reagan obtained an overhaul of the income tax code, which eliminated many deductions and exempted millions of people with low incomes. It was not as bad as some portray.

I think I'm sort of kneejerk hostile when it comes to Reagan..
I remember the days....
I remember downtown flooded with Coke and Hashish and these new, dangerous dealers, crazy stomp your ass and shoot you kind of dealers!..what was once a "hey, lets get high" kind of thing became a serious and dangerous drug underground..
The "free afganistan" stamped 500 gram blocks of Hashish that were suddenly available on front all over town and the guys who had it packed guns. Little did we Know that we were helping Reagan and his CIA create Al Qaida with his new Pal Osama Bin Laden...we thought it was just good hash.....
I remember street people, who were discharged from mental hospitals living under the bridges, I remember the Police being off the fucking hook hostile.
I dont remember prosperity for working people, I had a $6.50 an hour job, no health insurance. I know there was a real middle class expansion during the Reagan years, but I never saw it.
Carter had seen our energy problems coming and instituted Solar initiatives and lower speed limit and a number of great policies that Reagan abolished.
what gets me most now is to talk to my Guatemalan friends about those times and to realize what was being done overtly and covertly by that administration during those times...
I actually Hate Reagan, a word I don't really use much.
We celebrated his death at my home with laughter, and I hope to piss on his grave before I die.

Hell Never, since he was President in the eighties...just go ahead and blame Parachute Pants and Culture club on the guy. :)
Things were fucked up when he assumed office, royally fucked up. Interest rates were nuts, inflation, remember waiting in Line for gas in 78? If your a democrat or a liberal you don't like the guy period... I don't like some of his policies, but he was effective. If his policies were so bad subsequent congresses could have overturned them, but they have not...why not? The democrats have power now, and its not the first time since he left office.
I have voted for democrats and republicans...I do not tow a party line, each party has good, and each party has some bad. ...sounds simple, but its true. The problem we have is the system. Politicians follow the wind in the direction that will get them elected, and they also follow the money.
A problem I have with democrats is they do not push personal responsibility and think government can solve all problems, They also never met a tax they did not like.. The problem I have with Republicans is they Bow to the conservative religious base, and they love to import cheap labor to help business...most of it non educated :"non documented" (illegal)l workers. This is simplified, as I have more problems with each. I do not respect either party.
I am sick of the total lack of common sense....it's appalling. Here is an example, California still has not passed a budget. The democratic majority wants to raise taxes while they continue to spend and fund new programs, even tho there are billions lacking in funds to meet the current budget. They cry about a slow down, but the fact is revenues have gone up each year, but their spending outpaces it . Government is bloated, money for the school system is flushed down the toilet, and they keep borrowing to pay the current bills. This on top of the fact that the population is actually stagnant or decreasing as people leave the State, The only growth is through illegal immigration. This growth does not contribute to the revenue, it just draws on resources. Schools, Hospitals... Our so called Republican governator is a complete pathetic joke, worse then the "Recalled" governor he replaced. Our real estate market is in shambles, destroyed by greedy bankers and mortgage brokers who gave loans to people who could never afford the house. Neighborhoods are blighted with Foreclosures and dead lawns.....This is just one state, the country as a whole is just as bad. Republicans and Democrats...they both suck.!

Diane, thanks for the thoughtful and witty contribution..
It really adds a lot....
P.
Jeff, I think the "never met a tax they didn't like" cliche is a bit overplayed.
The personal responsibility line has some merit though, but it's not really as simple as that. Republican policies tend to demand personal responsibility from civilians while relieving corporate entities of any responsibility whatsoever. The deregulation of the lending industry under the Hastert /Delay congress fro example , the deregulation of wall street, hell the deregulation of the Moneyed Classes in general has given us a collapsing housing market, billions in credit card debt that's running at 26% interest because they can if your late even once..
$4.25 gas, Exxon making a thousand dollars a second in profit and refusing to finish their commitments on the Exxon Valdez spill.
hmmm..
The thing about GOP responsibility is that they like to Privatize profit while socializing the risk. So working taxpayers we get to bail these overcapitalizing dogs out over and over
when It comes to responsibility , it needs to be across the board.
Sure working people need to save for retirement, but government needs to make sure it doesn't go all ENRON on them..
sure people need to build better communities, but Government needs to help them when the fucking Levees break..
I think the "I'm gonna get mine" mentality we see so often today is a direct result of poor people watching the moneyed classes get away with this gross universal cash heist, and seeing Government break the law with impunity..It makes a working guy say "fuck it, why should I play by the rules?"
I agree with your ultimate statement about the state of the nation, but I think if you're honest you have to agree that the sorry state of the economy and the nation in general is ENTIRELY on the shoulders of this administration drunken war spending spree and utter disregard for regulatory practices. Your governator wouldn't pursue the ENRON energy scam that was killing you guys when he got his job, and he's been even more useless since.
I don't think Government can solve all problems, but I do like Government!
It's the cornerstone of civil society, it's an attempt to create a fair society through checks and balances, it's a noble sentiment. The Neo Conservative trend that seeks to privatize everything and destroy Government is a disaster. They want to dismantle every great civic engineering project we've ever embarked on!
It makes me sick...
85 billion spent on Private contractors in Iraq?
More private security forces than actual military at this point..
And that a Private military that doesn't take a vow to defend the constitution or Any civilian constituency, it's an army for hire...
it's a neo con dream...
An army that works for the highest bidder, ignore the Geneva Conventions and rules of engagement. Enabled, armed and employed by the Bush Administration.
PAN.

"Look at the figure below, and then look at it again, and again, and again. It is the most telling picture about the U.S. political economy I have ever seen."
"It comes from Princeton political scientist Larry Bartels' new book, soon to be released. What it shows is the difference that the President's party affiliation makes to the distribution of income during the four years of the president's term. (The distributional outcomes are shown with one year's lag.) When a Republican president is in power, people at the top of the income distribution experience much larger real income gains than those at the bottom--a difference of 1.5 percent per year going from the bottom to the top quintile in the income distribution. The situation is reversed when a Democrat is in power: those who benefit the most are the lower income groups. If you are in the bottom quintile, the difference between having a Democratic or a Republican president in office is an income gain (or loss) of more than 2 percent per year! Strikingly, compared to Republicans, Democratic presidents generate higher income gains for all income groups (although the difference is statistically significant only for lower income groups).
Bartels shows in his book that this difference is not a statistical artifact or a fluke. It is not the result of Democrats coming to power during better economic times, or of Republicans reining in the unsustainable excesses of Democratic administrations they replace. (It turns out that the same pattern prevails even when a Republican president is succeeded by another Republican.) These numbers are real and they are the outcome of partisan differences in policy. So if you are one of those who have bought the story that income distribution is the result of pure market forces and technological changes, with politics playing no role--think again.
Bartels' findings raise an important puzzle: if Democrats produce better income results for everyone, and particularly for the more numerous lower-income groups, why do they not always win? Bartels offers a rather complicated, but well-supported answer to this question having to do with voter myopia and psychology. (You will have to wait to read his book to get the full story). But Bartels does demolish two of the standard arguments regarding Republican advantages at the polls: the idea that poor Americans vote Republican for cultural reasons, or that Americans do not care about inequality. "

Amazing Holes!
These holes are not only amazing, but some of them
Are really terrifying - especially #8! The sheer scale
Of these holes reminds you of just how tiny you are.
1. Kimberley Big Hole - South Africa
Apparently the largest ever hand-dug excavation in the world,
This 1097 meter deep mine yielded over 3 tons of diamonds
Before being closed in 1914.
(Wonder how long a meter is. Ed)
2. Glory Hole - Monticello Dam, California
A glory hole is used when a dam is at full capacity and
Water needs to be drained from the reservoir
This is the 'Glory Hole' at Monticello dam,
And it's the largest in the world of this type
Of spillway, its size enabling it to consume
14,400 cubic feet of water every second.
3. Bingham Canyon Mine, Utah
This is supposedly the largest man-made
Excavation on earth. Extraction began in 1863
And still continues today, the pit increasing in
Size constantly. In its current state the hole
Is miles deep and 2.5 miles wide.
4. Great Blue Hole , Belize
This incredible geographical phenomenon known as a
Blue hole is situated 60 miles off the mainland of Belize .
There are numerous blue holes around the world,
But none as stunning as this one.
5. Mirny Diamond Mine , Serbia
I'm pretty sure most people have seen this one.
It's an absolute beast and holds the title of largest
Open diamond mines in the world. At 525 meters
Deep, with a top diameter of 1200 meters, there's
Even a no-fly zone above the hole due to a few
Helicopters having been sucked in.
6. Diavik Mine, Canada
The mine is so huge and the area so remote
That it has its own airport with a runway large
Enough to accommodate a Boeing 737.
It looks equally cool when the surrounding
Water is frozen.
7. Sinkhole in Guatemala
These photos are of a sinkhole that occurred
Early this year in Guatemala . The hole swallowed
A dozen homes and killed at least 3 people.
And the really terrifying one?
#8
This is the famous 'Rat Hole' that you have heard about.
It is capable of swallowing trillions and trillions of U.S.
Dollars... Annually! Never to be heard from again.
