Former Beauty Queen as McCain's running mate?
I'm not sure this is the wisest selection. 2 years as governor of Alaska is not nealy enough experience IMO but we still have to wait for official announcement.

I think that the election is sewed up for Obama now. What a joke that they've been dissing Obama's experience all this time and then pick some totally green woman to be one 70some year old man's heart attack away from the most powerful person in the world.
You will like her though, she's very conservative, anti-abortion. I don't think women will be running to vote for a hardcore conservative feminist like this.

This act was one of complete desperation. McCain knew he was going to lose unless he did something drastic. I may change my mind but I now think it's going to be a landslide. He wants women's votes but none of the women I know would vote for a battle ax mentality like this woman seems to have.

From whatI see Holo is we have two beauty queens to pick from instead of one now so this will split some of the glitter vote, maybe enough to tip things enough for McCain come November.
I really wish we could get back to electing proven statesmen with a real track record. Mitt Romney's religion did him in again if you ask me, he should have been the nominee IMO and anyone who can balance a budget in Massachusetts of all places deserves a place on Mt. Rushmore right now. And Senator Joe Lieberman is certainly just a capable as Romney but this gal from Alaska? A soccer mom for VP???
I guess we'll just have to wait and see..

Yeah, those feminists really ruined it for the rest of us women when all we had to do was cook, watch kids, f*ck, and look pretty ! Now we have to go to war and bring home the bacon and still cook, watch kids, f*ck, and look pretty ! Whew !

I won't underestimate her Larree, but 44 is awful young and though Alaska has a huge landmass there's only 643,000 to govern though again, she may end up being the best choice come election day.
She will pull in a lot of Hilary's disaffected voters and sway much of the young vote Obama is so popular with and I don't think there's any shady dealings in her past.
She might be alright..

It's all about balance on the ticket.
Whereas Obama was shy on foreign affairs, Biden was brought in with his wealth of experience to balance things out.
Meanwhile, McCain is plain old and ugly.
So there you go ...

My issue wasn't that she has a kid going to Iraq, it was the way she spoke about it in her little speech, like this made her more qualified to be president, which by the way is laughable.
