McCaain - Palin will definitely lessen our reliance on imported oil..

Looks like Alaska may have an economic boom heading their way shortly..

"On Wednesday, Palin signed a bill that would give the state the authority to award TransCanada Corp a license to build a long-stalled gas pipeline from the state's North Slope.

That pipeline has been on the drawing board for three decades, but stalled because of its price tag now expected to be $26 billion and regulatory hurdles.

Its development is key to bringing new gas fields on line in Alaska, since energy companies currently have no way of shipping that fuel to the high-demand markets in the lower 48 states and Canada."

Palin Pleased with Obama's Energy Plan
Includes Alaska's Natural Gas Reserves

No. 08-135

August 4, 2008, Fairbanks, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin today responded to the energy plan put forward by the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

"I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaska's natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs," Governor Palin said. "The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs."

In a speech given in Lansing, Michigan, Senator Obama called for the completion of the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stating, "Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production. And we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas and creating good jobs in the process."

Governor Palin also acknowledged the Senator's proposal to offer $1,000 rebates to those struggling with the high cost of energy.

"We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home," Governor Palin said. "This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board."

I believe it was also Obama who called for the USA to put a man on the moon by the end of the 60's and John Kennedy took and ran off with that idea calling it his own and not giving Obama, who was still in diapers at the time, the credit he so rightfully deserves..

At least we can't blame Gov Palin for doing the same type of dastardly thing..

Obama never claimed to be responsible for the man on the moon. Neither did any of his spokespeople. He was born in 1961. He would have only been about 8 years old.
The man on the moon was 1969.

Well I could have been kidding Qelizabeth, don't recall now but what I can assure you is this.. Anything that McCain-Palin do that is good for the country and good for the November election Obama with jump onthat bandwagon every single time and claim they are following his lead on the matter. (Every time Qelizabeth..) He just ran an entire campaign where his energy policy has been focused on maintaining proper air pressure in our car tires but now he's at the forefront of tapping our natural resources to lessen the demand on foreign oil.., brilliant.

Again Holo, anything & everything that McCain-Palin offer as good reasons to vote for them this fall Obama will jump on that claiming he is offering the same and more. He's done this his entire career and he won't stop now.

" he pads his résumé stretching the truth here, stealing credit there, and creating the illusion of achievement during his lackadaisical, undistinguished tenure in previous jobs.

A few examples? Take Obama's first general election ad. We are told that Obama "passed laws" that "extended healthcare for wounded troops who'd been neglected," with a citation at the bottom to only one Senate bill: The 2008 Defense Authorization Bill, which passed the Senate by a 91-3 vote. Six Senators did not vote-including Obama. Nor is there evidence that he contributed to its passage in any material way. So, his claim to have "passed laws" amounts to citing a bill that was largely unopposed, that he didn't vote for, and whose passage he didn't impact. Even his hometown Chicago Tribune caught this false claim. It's classic résumé-padding falsely taking credit for the work of others."
