I must admit, I'm smitten by Sarah Palin..
There's something special about this lady alright, she has a radiance that infects everyone it seems. She intelligent, well spoken and has some pretty impressive accomplishments in her short time in office but is she really qualified to be Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces if that moment was to come in the next year or two?
Wow.. A soccer mom as Commander In Chief.. Talk about a Revolution!

Of course you are, Diver, you were always a zero on the issues, and focused completely on the shallow angles.

She is gorgeous!!!!
If we could have a way to elect OBAMA/BIDEN and have her read all of their speeches, the world would be a better place.

I do think that despite that they found a 'darling' they desperately needed to offset any darling aspects of OBAMA. She's sexy, she even shoots guns.
People will be mesmerised by her, but when it comes to voting, may hesitate before voting for her. I don't want to belittle soccer moms, I AM one, but I would properly hesitate before voting for her.
The same could be said about Obama.
I think in the next 40 days, we'll have gotten over the initial infatuation, and get to the issues. Then we'll see.

I don't mind "My favorite mistake"
I do mind "Our greatest mistake"
Subtle WORLD of difference.
I am unwilling to make any more mistakes ... where too many mistakes have been made already ... one after another ...
... after another ...
... after another ...
and then ...
... another ...
She's charming ... and may have been brought on to offset, perhaps even highlight the point that ...
He's charasmatic ...
I'm going with who I think knows more ... and has the better "ed cred".
... and has clearly outlined the issues ... in depth ... by their own hand.
If I can see Sarah do more than soundbite ... then I'll listen. Yet, I've done some research, and I'm not sold.
For I ain't buying the selling of "Mom's Apple Pie" ... and I somewhere along the way fully expect the Republican VP to appear pulling some good smelling shit out of some studio oven ... while all the while explaining her views on foreign policy -- and why she thinks B.O. stinks.
The Republicans are simply attempting a divide and conquer manuever. She's a shill ... window dressing ... a sleight of hand to distract from the pea's location.
It's a dupe. I hate that stuff ... doesn't matter which party it originates from.
Is all.

She's seems to really have thrown Obama for a loop. Funny how he needs to compare himself to her when he's running against John McCain. Cool that Obama did state her family was off limits but according to McCain it's his camp digging for all the dirt. Of scandles that are being construed none seem to hold much water.
She's genuine, that's what's cool about her and she's actually done something and demonstrated real leadership skills when it comes to governing.
And the moose in her families freezer? She shot it! How cool is that?

In my opinion, the scandals are purposely in the news, as you say, brought up primarily by the Republicans, because they are buying time while she brushes up on foreign policy and gets her story straight on issues that occur outside of Alaska.
This is carefully crafted.
People are eating it up. Everybody loves a scandal.
Obama says, Lay off her family, especially her children. Let's get down to what matters to American people's lives: the issues.
http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm
It doesn't seem like she's ready to talk about the issues, as a mayor of a small, very small city, very little experience working on the contiguous United States, and less than two years as governor.
I am a mother, and a working mother, and I am not demeaning women when I say that caring for 5 children, one being an infant with Down Syndrome, plus one child who is pregnant and going through all of the difficulties surrounding that, cannot be easy. I hesitated before my decision to vote for Obama, because he has two young children, and I know the responsibility surrounding that if your a responsible parent.
Diver, yes, you have a great idea: let's compare her not to Barack Obama, but to Joe Biden.
http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/joe_biden.htm
The speech writers are working hard to prepare her speech for tonight. I'm sure they'll make her sound great. And I'm sure that the people who already like McCain will continue to be smitten with her.

I don't see anything major at all as far as scandals go, just people trying to create them for her.
As far as governing a small town, her experience of governing 24,000 state employees seems to be completely forgotten about.
Joe Biden is a capable man alright but what I recall most about him is what he did to Robert Bork & tried to do to Clarence Thomas..
http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=34674
"Joe Biden has had his finger in every tawdry hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee in my memory,” Levin said. “He has lowered the standard of debate. He has politicized the confirmation process. He has used his position to defame a number of nominees, including Bob Bork and Clarence Thomas, and there’s no road too low that he won’t travel.”

She wouldn't be my first choice for VP either Qelizabeth, that would have been Mitt Romney.
And McCain is not my favorite for President, that was Ron Paul and Mitt Romney as a more realistic candidate.
It's too bad Steve Forbes sat out this election.., now that man would be a great president.

I know that even though we have different views on things, we both want the best for our country, and the citizens who come in all shapes and colors. We may differ on certain issues, such as abortion, but know that I'd never have one, and I wouldn't be alive if they were legal when I was born. And neither of us want unwanted pregnancies. You see, politics try to split good people apart, create rifts. We're actually both sides of the same coin which says In God We Trust. We're not that different after all and I refuse to let politics get the best of me.
Have a good one.

You're cool Qelizabeth. I enjoy spirited debate and I respect your views and opinions. What I don't like is people (or candidates especially) who vote strictly along idealogical and party lines, that's what worries me most about the Obama-Biden ticket, they both have clear records of doing just that while McCain-Palin both have records of reaching across party lines and even standing against their party for the best interests of the people as a whole.
Still I think Obama-Biden will be the winning ticket but wait till Americans start shelling out their dollars to the tune of $2500 for each American to fund the $845 billion Global Poverty Relief Act of which not one dime will be spent here. I suppose the Fed can just print the money to pay for that and we'll pay more in the form of a devalued currency but throwing money at the world's problems will not going to help anyone.
A lot of speculation Palin will be replaced shortly.., I doubt it myself.

I hate to speculate, but a lot can happen between now and November, and a lot rides on Florida and Ohio, where McCain seems to hold a slight lead.
If it were a pure Democracy, I would agree that Obama has it, but with our electoral system, it's anybody's guess.
Let's just hope whoever gets it has compassion for Americans and the World.
