I happen to disagree. Just because the other three candidates are Senators doesn't mean they're not qualified to lead and govern.
Being a governor of a state for no matter how short of time and no matter how large a state, has no bearing on the qualifications to lead for me.
I do admit I LOVE her accent, which is regional (I worked with a person from British Columbia Canada and she had that same fab accent.) and I think she's drop dead gorgeous, and she's definitely fab because she's a great shot. Which is rare especially for a woman.

Perhaps I shouldn,t comment here as I am not an American but I do feel that the USA elections affect us all.
In my opinion this was a terrible speech and one that I would have expected to hear 40 years ago. The message was as I understood it that "John Mccain" is a man who can win a war.
To quote one phrase, he stated that "John Mccain was a man that our enemies will fear".
In my opinion we in the west have scared our enemies enough and where has it got us.
I for one want our enemies to love us and understand us and to respect us.
Fear breeds aggretion and aggretion will end in war.
The great nation of the usa should not point it's gun at the world but offer it's hand in friendship or it may find that when it pulls her trigger her outdated gun has been blocked by the bullshit from the person who has loaded it.

Senators flap a lot I agree, you must be watching CSPAN too! but they push bills into laws. They also make things happen. And what they've worked on over the years has had much much broader implications.
I think the Senators are all capable leaders.

I agree that our enemies need to respect us but it's not by us completely missing the mark and going into the totally wrong place on the globe in an endless war that is leaving us BANKRUPT.
I feel like we've been lead by someone who's got the dizzies. McCain (bless him and god love him for what he went through.) stumbles and gets things mixed up and has outdated strategies.
I'm off to work now, before my boss (myself) fires me.
G'day, Larree.

Last night's convention was so laughable. The same whole group of people who called Obama inexperienced said Palin is "a breath of fresh air" Bush lauded McCain for believing in defending our country but Iraq did not attack us. They carried signs that said "Service" on one side and "Country First" on another. Yes, they put our country first into Iraq and next they'll put our country into Iran and then they'll put our country in Georgia. It was funny watching Next Gingerich pushing Palin when you knew if somebody like her would've been Obama's choice they'd be saying the election is over due to poor judgment.

The Republicans don't even have a platform other than repeal Roe v Wade and smear Obama.

Joe Lieberman's political career is on the wan. He was lucky in his reelection, for his main opponent's campaign really faltered leading up to the polls, but I don't think his luck will hold again. He's a lame duck. Watch for him to begin losing key appointments after November.
The state he respresents ... well, it's likely they won't put him back after this display either. Republican lovers generally don't fair well in CT.
We'll see, of course; but that's my prediction.
