What doyou think of putting Sarah Palin on Mt. Rushmore?
Of course I'm not serious (now) but I do think last night was a defining moment in American politics, and I have little doubt Sarah Palin will make huge contribution to the future well-being of America..
God Bless Sarah Palin & God Bless America!

HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!
Sarah Palin is an inspiration to me. She has encouraged me, with her words and every fiber of her being, to stop posting comments here (I still love ya Larree.) and put all my extracurricular internet efforts into the election of OBAMA/BIDEN. Thank the Lord, Obama isn't a wimp like Kerry and Gore. (speaking of how they campaigned.) He's gonna fight back hard!! He beat the Clintons for God's sake!!
I'll still going to listen to all you Crazy Diamonds. Your music that is. How could I not? But Palin was just too much of an inspiration to me to spend my time here when I could be helping seal the deal for OBAMA/BIDEN 08. Wish me luck; I'm gonna need it!
Shine on.
PS
Attacks, praise, stretch truth at GOP convention.

I wish it was so easy to pull us out of a war as Obama and even Ron Paul makes it sound but staying thr course in Iraq proved to be right as the Iraqi govt continue to gain strength and will be able to manage their own security soon. Afghanistan is an entirely different matter though, 300,000 Russians couldn't secure that place, I'm not sure we'll prevail there either.
I'm not pro-war at all sir, I apposed them and still do but when our servicemen are in the field we have to support them, there's really no other option that I see.

OK Linus Dan, how about supporting our troops by getting them out of there and not shifting them into another situation in the name of 'good'. The opening of the republican convention stated they will go after any extreme Muslim group or any groups they deem as 'evil'. The US has been at war because of the fear factor which is a method of controlling the masses, same techniques as Hitler used and through propaganda (the media). As long as people choose to live and view life this way they will find blind 'comfort' within a government that 'protects' while they give away their liberties of which the country was founded upon.

Let's look at it this way.. You're the president and you have credible intelligence a country is developing nuclear weapons and already possesses the missile technology to deliver them far outside their borders. Add that to the rhetoric of their leaders boasting they intend to destroy countries we are allied with.
What do you do sir? I wouldn't want to have to make that decision myself.
Do we bury our head in the sand and pretend soch a threat doesn't exist and then wake up one morning to find out Rome, Tel Aviv, Moscow & New York City no longer exist?
I'm at a loss at your question sir. How do YOU suggest our president, whoever is elected, handle such a crises?
(Bear in mind our Constitution was written 232 years ago and though I agree we should follow it that didn't have neclear weapons in those days..)
So again, what do you suggest?

It's a no brainer, you go after the terrorists if you wanna go after the terrorists. What part did they not get?
Instead they friggin' bankrupt us and we're still where we are, and you know where that is. . . . .
They spend all of our MONEY that we worked hard to make and then turn over to them for STUPID wars that result in us being weaker economically, and domestically, so that the DOLLAR plummets, our money is worth even LESS!!!! The least we can get out of the deal is cheaper gas, but NO!!! And then, All the strong currencies around the world buy up our country. GREAT PLAN REPUBLICANS! What do they care? They're gonna win a DARWIN award for that line of thought.

Why is f%$face still roaming around? Duh duh duh, not at you at the Bushies.

Very, Very nice ... My sentiments exactly ! .... Everyone should READ the last sentence of that, 100 times each night before going to sleep, and at least three times when arising in the morning ... Have you all forgotten why this country was founded in the first place ?
It sure as hell wasn't to be the worlds police ... fighting a boogie man that only exist in their weak little minds ....
Your enemy is right here folks ... everytime a new law is passed and another freedom is taken away you are helping to take away the very principles this country was founded on ... Your minds are so occupied with the fear of terrorist that you forget why you are afraid of them ... It's because they want to take your freedoms from you ...
Well guess what .... you are taking them from yourselves ...

The video is good and I agree with pretty much all of it but again, this is 2008 and rhetoric is not going to keep us safe from hostile nations intent on getting weapons of mass destruction and using them.
So again, how do you suggest our next president, whoever is elected, deal with this reality?

The point is it shouldn't all be up to 'the president'... one way to effect global changes starts with you and what you choose to bring to life. Trying to change others by instilling fear and using control methods is antiquated thinking equivalent to that of the combustion engine. We have alternate resources as much as we have alternate ways of viewing life, so why are they not employed?... Money.. and the greed of, instilling Dependency, and Fear drives war.
Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul would have been closer options in this line of thinking.

Larree ... We'll never see eye to eye on this matter .... It is a FACT that Israel does not continually bend over backwards in the name of peace .... Take for example the building that they are doing in disputed areas that they KNOW will cause tensions ...
There are BAD people everywhere ... including JEWS ...
You can Label yourself Jew or American or Black or Indian etc. etc... but until we all grow up and realize that we all came from the same womb and that we are all brothers and sisters, these stupid wars will exist .....

I don't think arguing about Israel is the issue.
The issue is this,
Let's assume that Larree's right, and that Israel must defend and push back Islamic extremists.
OBAMA/BIDEN are the right people to do it, in an economical way.

Ron Paul was my first choice for president though I didn't agree with everything he said. I would curtail US military involvement in Europe and NATO should have never expanded beyond the former Western Europe.
Our goals could have been accomplished in Iraq without a war IMO and I never would have supported the insurgents who were fighting the Russian occupation back in the 80's, that's what's gotten us into the situation we find ourselves in now. (Had it been up to me I wouldn't have intervened in WWI either cause if we hadn't there wouldn't have been a WWII, where was Ron Paul when we needed him?)
But that's neither here or there now. We have nations hostile to us trying to obtain weapons of mass destruction and all the enlightened political rhetoric in the world is not going to keep us safe.

I'm sooooooooooo tired of politics. Why does election year fall on leap year? To make it one day longer. Not that it matters anymore, as the next election will start Nov. 5...

Larree, did you hear this about Palin going to a church where they preach about Jews for Jesus? :>)
from politico.com
Palin’s church, the Wasilla Bible Church, gave its pulpit over to a figure viewed with deep hostility by many Jewish organizations: David Brickner, the executive director of Jews for Jesus.
Palin’s pastor, Larry Kroon, introduced Brickner on Aug. 17, according to a tran_script of the sermon on the church’s website.
“He’s a leader of Jews for Jesus, a ministry that is out on the leading edge in a pressing, demanding area of witnessing and evangelism,” Kroon said.
Brickner then explained that Jesus and his disciples were themselves Jewish.
“The Jewish community, in particular, has a difficult time understanding this reality,” he said.
Brickner’s mission has drawn wide criticism from the organized Jewish community, and the Anti-Defamation League accused them in a report of “targeting Jews for conversion with subterfuge and deception.”
Brickner also described terrorist attacks on Israelis as God's "judgment of unbelief" of Jews who haven't embraced Christianity.
"Judgment is very real and we see it played out on the pages of the newspapers and on the television. It's very real. When [Brickner's son] was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment — you can't miss it."
Palin was in church that day, Kroon said, though he cautioned against attributing Brickner’s views to her.
The executive director of the National Jewish Democratic Council, Ira Forman, cited the “cultural distance” between Palin and almost all American Jews.
“She’s totally out of step with the American Jewish community,” he said. “She is against reproductive freedom – even against abortion in the case of rape and incest. She has said that climate change is not man-made. She has said that she would favor teaching creationism in the schools. These are all way, way, way outside the mainstream.”
