tape hiss-the early years
i'm tom, from manchester uk. just arrived at iac, put two tunes up 'the dirger' and 'wait'. both were recorded on a 4 track cassette(!) machine. tape hiss was an issue. ultimately some must remain, but you know what? that's life. i got a cd recorder, which works if it's in the mood. i put the 4 track tape output straight into the cd recorder, and lo! i had a cd. this was ripped into my computer, then re-ripped after realising mp3 was far more accepted than windows audio files. then i got busy online, and iac is the latest place i've joined. hope anyone who hears the tunes likes them. 'bye for now. tom

Hi Tom:

I liked 'em both. Good grooves. Tape sounds great to me.

well, you know how to create a great mood...

The tune Wait was Ironic, because I kept waiting for a bridge or something...

:)

Great sound though!
I feel like stealing that first one and writing a lyric for it...

I can totally relate to this man. Music started like that, its funny to realize that this type of music is viewed as "bad" because of that "hiss" haha.

I got a track I did on a handheld tape recorder and a voice recorder on an mp3 player!!

Props!

Hiss - brings back such great memories. Sure beats digital clipping.
