For once, a 'political' thread I can agree with. Personally, I think anyone who believes that politics can solve any problem is an idiot. At best, politics treats the symptoms. The problems we face are caused by human nature and, until THAT is fixed, things won't get better.

Politics is the art of adjusting and mediating all those human natures so that they don't immediately slaughter each other. It is what it is, and the alternative is worse.

I don't want to say I don't care but tend to agree with the majority here - revolution bottom line is a matter of a mind change one mind at a time - if people wern't squeezed economically by the impossibility of paying 10% on top of 100% is just always, in my opinion, going to drive the weaker of us to resort to thuggery.
nice blog,

"It is what it is, and the alternative is worse."
Actually, LD, the best alternative is evolving. If you think that we are the apex of development, then you're fooling yourself.

Yeah, that's the quick alternative, alright :)

I never said it would be quick or easy.

It will not be quick or easy, but it is the right way and it is happening all the time, whether we know it or not. And it is happening to more and more people, faster and faster, every day - every day a whole lot of people learn something new, experience something different, grow a little more... even pain and suffering helps people to evolve.
And politics? Politicians are but figureheads, put there by the system to deflect attention away from those who would have it all at any cost.

My problem with politics is that the major parties seem more interested in putting their own causes and agendas ahead of the main goal...taking care of the country as a whole. We're all in the same boat in troubled waters right now, I wish we could be a little more united, but I know that's not realistic. I can't even get band members to agree on anything. :)

I don't care for our current system of political campaigning, vague speech, and propaganda. I do care about policy change. It's more than a bit frustrating to listen to the bull.

Man, politics frustrate the HELL out of me.... and I'm politically active in my music and shit -- to the FAR left side on MOST issues...
BUT why would I vote for what I've dreamed of, the FIRST African American Candidate with a chance, WHEN he's really just a WHITE guy, who's part of the richey-rich network.
TELL me something INCREDIBLE that he's gonna do, and maybe I'll actually vote, just to be a part of a history making black candidate in a horribly racisist/profiling country
