A BUNCH more reviews from OatP and friends.
Hadn't updated our station (hrefhttp://iacmusic.com/Stations/KIAC6462.htm) in a while since we having been preparing for a headlining acoustic gig and laying down some new tracks but I finally got around to reviewing some of the songs we have added lately so I'll post them here since they were added to the station a while ago. If anyone wants to submit songs I'd be glad to have a listen, remembering that we are not professional music critics just another band that knows what we like.

Chris Mahon "Love you More"

Sweet opening riff, sets the stage quite nicely. Really cool and unique vocals that help to make the song more memorable. Kinda reminds me of some of the best of the 90's rock. That guitar line that first enters at 1:26 holds a great deal of emotion and sounds unlike most other lines that are often put in similar places in songs. Not immediately discernible but the lyrics are pretty interesting too. But in the end, this song is all about the great and unique guitar work. I could listen to that repeating line and the end all day, just so smooth. It's never a bad thing when a song ends and you get upset cause you just wanted it to go on and on.

Hop on Pop "Cary's Here"

Super fun over-the-top- tap-your-feet- can't-help-but-smile pop. Can't get enough of the piano fill, works well as both a hook and a background color. Love the lyrics, sweet, honest and marvelous. Also nice to have a song about this kind of love, gives it it's own sense of self. This is another one of those straight from the heart tunes that just grabs you and won't let go. Love the horn at 1:40 nice fun and brief and back into this high energy but low volume piece. The clapping, the smooth vocal work and the moving bass line all work together to force anyone with a heart to smile at this.

Jeff Allen Myers "Peace of Mind"

This has such a cool retro vibe to it, like it's drawing from the best of classic rock and giving a new energy. The main vocals sound like a modern Buddy Holly with a bit more of an edge, and the harmonies beckon fond memories of those lads from Liverpool, especially in the chorus. At about the 2:17 mark the song takes a very interesting new direction that pulls it in a more modern rock style, and then marries the two back together giving the song a unique feel. Cap it all off with a nice and strange psychedelic out and you've got yourself quite a nice piece of work.

DirgeK "No Feelings"

What a voice! The recording is a bit rough, which kinda like here anyway. Very intimate and real. The song expertly implements jumps in volume that echo the outcry of its theme and make the emotion and passion that much more impactfull. The hesitation in the main guitar is a masterful stroke , giving the song a folksy, Dylanesque feel, with a touch of the softer side of Zeppelin. If you like your music raw and from the heart pouring out of a musician then you will like this tune.

Frisky Basket "Pandoras Tear"

Must be listened to on a good sound system or headphones. The oscillating, echoing. ambient sounds give this song a very visual feel. Lights and colors dancing with each other without any particular rules or guidelines, simply frolicking about. Quite moody and intelligently crafted in a way that allows different pieces of music and rhythm to play off of each other but still work almost alone, highlighting a sort of solitude that seems to encapsulate this entire song. Really cool.

Tenpenny Joke "She"

This song just has something else going for it. Those middle eastern sounds turned into hard rock work waaay better than I would previously had thought. The guitar work in this song is top notch and the production quality is VERY good. I especially like the way the beginning of the song plays with strange rhythms, but really it's the sounds that breathe insane life into this work. They've taken so many different styles and philosophies and combined them to make a tasty buffet that surprises you with how well it is all put together. Tasty indeed.
