OatP's New Ambitious Concept Album for an IAC Test Run!
Greetings musicians, listeners and friends.

Otis and the Professors are currently working on an album from which we will be releasing several songs from over the next few weeks. The first half is titled "Falling Through A Lighted Maze" and contains mostly instrumental and experimental tracks from different genres and influences. The second half continues that but is more lyric and vocal heavy, it is titled "From Ash". The concept is to have the whole things work as a long sortof alternative movement based piece of music, with central themes surrounding a Renaissance of art, music, imagery, surrealism, and love.

Today we released the track "Sweet Delirium" which is the final track of the first half of the album and is meant to be listened to immediately before "From Ash" (also posted here) the first song on the second half. As we continue to post songs we would absolutely LOVE to hear your feedback on EVERYTHING, from music to lyrics to production (keeping in mind we have a VERY limited budget). We would gladly return the favor of course, if you are yourself a musician and would like some feedback from us.

Please feel free to use this forum and help us on this journey in whatever way you deem necessary, even if we may not want to hear what you have to say. We absolutely appreciate anyone who takes the time to listen. Together we could make this a great album.

Your engaging persona helps the cause.

My fav part of "Sweet Delerium are the first 1:30 min, and from about 4:00 to the end. The last section's very cool, excellent sonics...big drums, strings, bells, rock on...

my humble view...good luck...

I listened to both of them. Keep in mind that I am just a dope, but I agree with Steve April about the "Delirium" from 4:00 on - it was my fave piece part. I would have liked to hear the guitar get a little more agressive in that section, it seemed a little reserved to me, I think that section should kick some ass before leading into From Ash. Just a thought.

Hey thanks for the great feedback guys. I wonder if putting some distortion on that guitar at the end would help with what you are saying jingo. We will look into some things, now back into the studio.

Uploaded "Blue Wire" today. Another experimental track that attempts to blend some unique ideas, including putting the song in a 5/4 time signature. As always feedback is not expected but is greatly appreciated.

We should be able to post a few songs off of the "From Ash" side of the album very soon, until then we hope you enjoy our less conventional work.
