Girl caught my eye, I caught the flu.
Don't want to be a rock star anymore. Rock stars are not about being good, or true, or honest. Rock stars are about ego and money and power and marketing. So your question, "Am I good enough?" doesn't really make sense to me. I'm good enough to say, at the end of the day, that I've honed my talents to where I'm comfortable sharing them anytime, anywhere. I think I have gifts that make me unique. I think I've written some music that will stand against anything out there. If I never made a dime from my music and yet everybody could sing the chorus to one of my songs, I'd consider myself pretty lucky. I don't have the angst it takes to be a rock star. I don't have the need to be famous. For me, just knowing that a few thousand people have heard my tunes on IAC is pretty gratifying. I wouldn't pass on the fame and money if it were to come my way - but that's not why I make music.

So, I'm not sure how this happened, but somehow my original message was replaced by something that I think Tom O'Brien posted in a different topic, effing weird. Fortunately it pretty much sums up how I feel about that topic so that kinda worked out.
So my story was actually that we (OatP) were getting ready to release a bunch of songs, including the new one "Vanilla View" and I got the flu, so we had to postpone some releases, and you can expect some more songs from the concept album "Falling Through A Lighted Maze/From Ash" in the coming weeks barring any more flu. "Vanilla View" is about a girl that probably has no idea, but her art and self inspired it. Anyway, ya this was kindof weird, would appreciate feedback on the song.
Love,
Drewsus (OatP

We had been discussing whether or not we needed to do more mixing and mastering in order to increase volume levels in this song, so thank you for that feedback Mr. Jones, we will look into it.

Hey Otis & the Professors, i finally stole a moment, to give Vanilla View a bunch of good listens.
I really dig it! Pregnant with metaphor and imagery, this tune REALLY rules.
The delivery & vibe conjures up a 60's meets 90's trip, mixed with a strong Post Millenium indie sound. The chorus is what makes it.
I'm definitely feeling & seeing your art on this one.
Which makes this kind of RECURSIVE, eh?
As you said, "When Someone's artistic beauty catches your eye...."
Welcome again to Phlegm Phavourites overPhlow!
