R.I.P. The True Originator of Rap Music-Gil Scott Heron
NEW YORK (AP) -- Musician Gil Scott-Heron, who helped lay the groundwork for rap by fusing minimalistic percussion, political expression and spoken-word poetry on songs such as "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," died Friday at age 62.
I use to listen to this great musician/songwriter all day long. All Rap artists should give respect and homage to the man who started it all!

His spoken word was sheer poetry, and when he performed on the keys & sang his original tunes too....
GREAT Artist, and SO influential... he was the STAR on "5 sides of a coin", a film he & MANY other great hip-hop artists / Rappers / Beat-Boxers / DJs / Turn+Tablists & Graffiti artists created a couple of years ago.
Watching That li'l flick is when I became completely enamoured with this GOD of the Beat Poets, and Hip-Hop/ Blues/ RnB /singer/songwriters.
R.I.P indeed, but his music, and it's effects shall LIVE on !!!
peace.
