I have to beg your indulgence ...
Because this new song is about 6 1/2 minutes long! But listen and see if it doesn't hook you. I'm really grateful if anyone makes it to the end. It's a song from a horse's point of view.
We Horses
Thanks for listening,
Tom

"We horses in the field often dream of sprouting wings..."...What a great lyric Tom.
This song has a timeless sadness to it, brilliantly performed. The 6 plus minutes doesn't feel like 6 plus minutes. You are hooked or better yet corralled : ) by the beauty and the feeling.
Well done. Enjoyed.

I absolutely love the guitar work here. This not a genre that I particularly care for but I must say that this song would be an exception. Writing a song from the perspective of a horse is a very unique theme. Wish you had posted the lyrics because there were a few lines I could not quite make out clearly. At any rate, this song has a very compelling melody and I liked the fact that the vocals were very understated but perfectly matched to the overall song structure.
Oh, it is true that the song did not feel as long as it is. That in itself is testament to entertaining elements contained in it.
Great Work!

Thanks, you guys, for the nice comments. Stoneman and any others who are interested - I've now included lyrics, and here they are:
We horses in the field
Often dream of sprouting wings
All you men who made the wheel
You must dream of higher things
There was a time not long ago
When we wore no bit or bridle
No spurs ould make us go
And we bore no heavy saddle
(Chorus)
In the tall grass I will die
When my grazing days are over
Somewhere far away from here
Where my bones will lie forever
(Chorus)
In the meantime I will run
All the hills of my fathers
High above the world of man
Mane and tail fly like feathers
(Chorus)
To no man I am in debt
As I take my meal of grasses
And I proudly raise my head
Feel the wind as it passes
The snow time is the hardest time of all
I've witnessed many other horses fall
We band gether struggling for the heat
And we barely find the strength to keep our feet
(Chorus)
In the spring a little foal
Finds his legs in the clover
And I know down in my soul
We'll go on like this forever
(Chorus)
