Check out this new pop tune!
I wrote this in a different way than usual. I first came up with the melody on violin, then found chords that worked with the melody. Then I figured out what I was trying to say. Usually my words and melody happen at the same time and then I find chords to support them. I've got another tune I'm working on in the same way.

I would like to hear this with a rerecorded (or maybe just remixed) vocal. But the song, itself could be pretty cool.

Very catchy song with solid production. Sometimes your songs are not always in the pocket as far as drum beat and tempo but this one is very well defined in this area.
Nice work! (I like the vocals but they are a tad high in range for my taste)

Thanks Everybody. I was wondering if anybody would notice that my voice sounds a little like I'm on helium. I slowed down the playback to lower the pitch, thinking it would sound natural when I raised the speed again, but it gave my voice an odd feel. I may slow it back to its normal rate and post it again. But people who don't know my voice might never notice. Is it important?

This is a subjective thing and some may disagree with me but I think a more natural sounding vocal would sound better. On the other hand, if a woman was singing this song, it would sound appropriate in that high range but a speeded up male voice does give the "helium" sound which you properly identify as odd. John Lennon's voice was slowed down on Strawberry Fields and that sounds right because it's lower and in the male singing range. I think it's a really good song and refreshing departure from some of the more somber stuff you write. I think it's worth the extra work you are thinking of putting into fixing the vocal. This is just one person's opinion. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong. Do what you feel is right for you. There are many songs sung totally in falsetto by males that sound great but they are sung naturally and not not electronically altered. Good luck with the song.

Personally I'd love to hear a re-recording of this song in your natural pitch at the speed you want it with the guitars etc really tuned up. This isn't a criticism - I like the song a lot but it needs some work in my opinion. It's really poppy and fun and rather than fiddle eletronically for ages it's probably worth another crack at it.

Of course it is important if it is important to you Tom. After all, it is YOU that must be ultimately satisfied with the production. My only caution is to be careful with changing the actual time meter of the song as you may lose the original energy you were going for. I heard the effect on the voice when I first heard it and thought that it was quite appropriate for a Pop song. If you listen to most pop songs on the radio you will hear all kinds of technical wizardry on the Vox. I mean, real people don't sound like that! It is sort of expected if you are going for a more commercial sound. On the other hand, I know commercial is kind of a "bad" word for you so maybe changing it will bring it more in line with your own production standards. But personally? I like it the way it is. But I like quirky stuff! Do you Tom!
