New Song
I can't remember how to put up a live link to this song - maybe one of you more tech-savvy people could do that for me. The song is called "In Heaven" and I recorded it a few weeks ago with Bob Elliott. I haven't been on the Pipeline for a while. Hope some of you remember me!

How anyone could possibly forget you or your fine music is beyond me Tom. But yeah, good to see you back around here. This is a very fine song with some outstanding harmonies man. Loved It! Much Respect, Stoneman

Thanks Bryon, for doing that. And thank you, Stoneman, for your kind words. I'm glad to be back and curious to see what's been going on around here. I've been in kind of a funk since a close friend died and I lost my teaching job. But it's kind of a blessing in disguise, because now I have time once again for music in my life. "My barn having burned, I can now see the moon."

I might have cut back a bit too fiercely on the percussion in the first half. Might add a bit more high hat back in.
I love the quiet rhythmic feel and how the bass skips the one beat in the first half of song. I love a whole lot of unique touches on this track. Who sounds like this? Check it out, folks.

And a little comment on that job thing. I met a fifth grade beginning teacher from Oakland the other day, and he told me that Oakland lays off all of its beginning teachers as a matter of course every year and then hires most of them back later.
He got payed off and rehired twice so far. Not an uncommon practice. My district does similar stuff.

I like dropping the drums and bringing them back.
