I have this theory ...
Sorry, I got interrupted last night before I could finish my post.
As I was saying, I have a theory that the word "sunshine" is magic in songwriting and just makes people feel good. There's "You are the Sunshine of my life," "Walking on Sunshine," "Sunshine on my Shoulders," "Good Day Sunshine," "Sunshine of your Love," and probably more.
So on that theme, I wrote a song called "Just Sunshine." I hope it makes you feel good!
For some reason, I'm having trouble posting the link. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can somebody help me out? Thanks!

...that to really get down into the songs I play, I should memorize how to play their melodies as leads. My theory supposes further that when playing acoustic alone, when it's time to solo I can just drop the chords and play the melody . This theory rests on the idea that good melody is a power that can fend for itself by itself.
Say you're playing "Day By Day," for instance. You sang a verse, time for just guitar, how would it not be great to hear just the melody come out of the guitar at that point?
Of course, there is that counter theory that you could pick out the melody while playing the chords, but my hypothesis introduces the idea that the chords can be removed for that solo. Everything can be removed from that solo leaving just a melody.
In theory...

Conversely - I think you have a real gift for chord structure/voicing don't know what the technical thing is that I react to (I suck at guitar) So yeah, just melody would sound amazing and satisfying, but I could listen to an entire song of just your rhythm guitar and beats.

When you first posted and left it blank, I figured you wanted a theory from each of us, so I posted one.
I really like your musical development these days. You seem to have a grip on the recording enough to get the stuff out of your mind and into the world, and it's pouring out.

Very infectious melody on this one. I like it and I agree with your theory about sunshine. This song has immense potential and appeal. Much Respect, Stoneman

You made me think of more titles - Subshine Superman; You are my sunshine; Then others that use the image in some way (thinking of Frankie Millar’s ‘Be good to yourself’ or ‘Jeff Beck’s Hi ho silver lining’ or the Kinks Sunny afternoon) They are all songs that it is impossible to dislike.
I can’t use it of course - much too happy!

I think the term "Rain" may even be a stronger term. "Kentucky Rain" comes immediately to mind not to mention the simply titled "Rain" by Beatallica.
But this one remain my personal favorite..
