Creating a song link~
Follow these steps (horizontally) without the numbers of course and you can't go wrong.
1) <
2) no space
3) a
4) space
5) href
6) no space
7) =
8) no space
9) http://
10) no space
11) iacmusic.com/songs.aspx?
12) no space
13) songid=
14) no space
15) 5 digit song number (example -12345)
16) no space
17) >NAME OF SONG
18)<
19)/a
20)>
Once you learn how to make a link, simply copy it and save it somewhere on your desktop. Write 12345 as the ID # and write "name of song" where the name should be.Then any time you want to make a link simply copy the link and paste it in the blog. Then delete 12345 and replace it with the actual song ID #. Then add the actual song title in place of "name of song". It makes life much easier because you won't have to type the whole thing every time.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Lyin Dan's post beautifully explained everything about links in an amazingly succinct and direct way.
He is the master of brevity, the prince of good points, and a little miffed that he's not currently on the hitline ... but that's not important either.

My link explanation was perfectly adequate and totally succinct. Is it a crime to show two ways of doing something? Not everyone interprets info exactly the same way. I was not trying to upstage anybody. My only intent was to help Tom or anyone else who may have benefited from an alternate illustration, not to engage in a competition with anyone. I didn't "insert" praise of Tom's song for some competitive motive. To imply that is simply paranoid and a projection.
Kevin - Your attempt at being a provocateur is something that I can't help but take personally since you said some very insulting things to me a while back. At the time I let it go. That won't happen again.
Your praise of Dan's link thing was so over the top it was ridiculous and you know it and you know the motivation behind it. Spin it the way you want as I know you will, but I get the message, loud and clear.
Dan - To get on the hitline you have to write a song worthy of that honor as I did. Begging one of the moderators, as you did, to put your song on the hitline or mentioning that you're "miffed" about it in every one of your posts will not do it. Being on the charts is merit based, not political. It's an insult to IAC and everyone on the charts to imply that you can get to that position simply by whining, begging, or campaigning. Sorry, Dan, it takes talent and dedication to one's craft to be successful here. I've taken some of your insults in the past and let it go as well. This too shall end.
I hope my remarks have been "succinct" enough for the two of you.
I tried to be helpful but I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

I was poking fun at LyinDan's post, Rich. You correctly got that I went over the top w/ it. It was piggyback and play off his remark.
He went purposefully over the top ... for that was his way of being funny. He wasn't miffed that I didn't mention him in the least. He's not all that miffed at not being on the hit line ... but for making an offhand comment about how rather arbitrary getting on the IAC hit line is.
My return reply was as drama-queenish as his comment.
Regardless, where were you mentioned in my post? So how does anyone saying anything about anyone else reflect poorly on you when no comment was directed at you?
It had nothing to do w/ you.

FWIW, I've been on the Hitline :) And I'm pretty sure it's partly because I made the same sort of ploy before (not to mention...my track was great...sorta). Repetition is sorta funny.
Sure! It is an honor to be on the Hitline. I'm duly appreciative, even if I'm shty about responding to compliments (which...I am).
And if you don't think my current track is well-written and good enough to be on the Hitline...so what? I do. But I'm not miffed if you don't, not in the slightest. On the other hand, it's really easy to get you going, even inadvertently, and it's comical to watch. So, thanks for that. :)
Everyone hates me, I think I'll go eat some dirt.
