What the hell is wrong with my dog?
Okay, so I have a 2 year old pit bull and recently added an 8 wk old german rott to the family. Sam (my pit), doesn't seem to be aggressive to him but when he sniffs the puppy's ass, he drools unbelievably and chatters his teeth. It's gross. And then sometimes he just hikes his leg on the puppy. Not sure if that means he likes the puppy or he's just the most passive aggressive pit bull on earth. Any ideas? Seriously.

Thanks a lot guys, but I did some web surfing and apparently he's excited about the puppy's ass. Here are the possibilities:
He's excited
He's horny or...
He's having a seizure
It's still gross.

He is establishing who is top dog----the new dog will always be subservient after this----

I get the ass sniffing thing. I was more concerned about the ungodly amount of drool falling all over my floor and the puppy and the constant chattering of his teeth while doing it. But I get it now. Thanks

Is your pitbull neutered? I've seen that kind of behaviour in un-neutered male dogs. Hiking his leg on the pup is just him marking his territory on the pup; also behavior of an un-neutered male. I would definately watch that pittbull around that 8 week old pup.
Wow, a pittbull and a rottweiler, no one's going to break in your house.........or visit. :-)
